Nolan North is a treasure, but I’m honestly quite fatigued with our Ghost’s characterization and voice over. It would be so much more interesting and refreshing to hear more of our guardian’s voice during missions, strikes and other activities when we would otherwise hear our Ghost.

3 RepliesEdited by E x i l e D: 8/7/2020 3:58:08 PMThe Ghost sounds like a damn boyscout. Terrible puns, and with the notion that 5 Year olds play this game mostly. I'll take Sagira, or bring something else along.

1 ReplyI feel like having the guardian only talking in a few times makes it feel much more special.

I'd honestly like more of both. Some banter between the two of them. The Ghost is supposed to be your partner... the one you can depend on and we never talk with our ghost. I'd also like to be able to name my ghost.

3 RepliesEdited by PoolsidePoseidon: 8/6/2020 11:39:18 PMI can understand the whole silent protagonist angle, as it's intended to allow all players to create an image of their character in their own minds, like Monster Hunter World etc. But the fact that our character actually does have lines, rerdacts the need for a silent character in my mind. I don't mind that our ghost mainlines a lot of the dialogue since most of it happens during combat when I assume my character would be somewhat, preoccupied, but you're absolutely right. Having a line of dialogue every year or two is just silly. Additionally, I really preferred Dinklebot over Nolan. Not that Nolan North aint great, I just don't like that our ghost has so many weird personalities. Sometimes he's skittish, sometimes he's trying to be a badass, sometimes he's trying to be funny, its just goofy and it creates, or attempts to create, this lighthearted enviroment. Despite what anyone says about Dinklebot, the tone his lines set were so much better for me. Dinklebot was somber and calm which really helps create the darker tones this game revolves around. Humanity is on our last legs when we boot up Destiny and its our guardian that helps us get back on our feet, but the world is never in less peril, the tragedies in the lore are never less tragic, and we are still nowhere near the strength of humanity pre-Great Disaster. In my mind this just isn't a world that should be constantly attempting to make one liners land and add silliness. That was Cayde's Job, that was his personality and it worked. It was refreshing to have a character who balanced out how heavy the game could feel. Now its my ghost, and its all the time. I simply find it annoying. And how can there only be a male ghost!? I'd rather have silent characters across the board and have the choice of a lady or a man ghost.

I've said since d1 that they needed to voice our characters. And they dont need more than 2 voice actors. A Male and a female. They don't have to go overboard like d1 and make humans and awoken have different voices...just give us 2, and then edit the voices for the exos. Without a voice, our characters feel super distant from the rest of the world, like we're the quiet kid in the back of the room. I find it awkward and disappointing everytime. I saw some guy post a video on youtube way back of him voicing over his character for the vanilla campaign cutscenes and it was well done, giving his character some personality and life.

If Failsafe was my ghost I wouldn’t mind hearing it so much

Triumph the Insult Comic Dog: "You were a good friend, Saint... FOR ME TO POOP ON." Legend. Get it done, Bungie.

1 ReplyLines Ghost says: Pay one actor Lines Guardian says: Pay six actors

2 RepliesI agree completely. Nolan North is very talented, but Ghost's voice is really annoying. Dinklebot was way better in my opinion because he added that sense of dreariness that we need right now with the Darkness at our door.

I heard they got the guy who voices Gorden Freeman and the woman who voices Chell for our Guardians next season. Gon b lit.

Mute the Ghost. Listen to the Thunder from down Under

I think Captain Frank is a better fit for the voice of the ghost. There’s not enough talk about bangin’ hoors.

What’s wrong with ghost? And it would make no sense to suddenly change the guardian from you to a character you play as mid-franchise.

Nolan North is very fatigued as Ghost. It wouldn't be so bad if Ghost wasn't such a pushover. At the least Ghost needs a personality shift. More guts, less frailty.
