Essence of Vanity and Lectern Glitch
Sorry but this is my first time ever posting in the forums and I really don’t know how to get help with my game.
I’ve completed the 3 steps to the essence of vanity, and when I track the quest it goes to Eris where I need to “work with her to find a solution” but she has no dialogue and nothing for me.
The lectern (where I think I’m supposed to interact) is completely dark and I cannot click on anything.
Also, I accidentally deconstructed my very first piece of dreambane...the cloak. But I think that’s another issue.
Basically I’m just a sitting duck, hoping Eris will have something for me or the lectern will work.
Help would be very appreciated!

You will need to proceed further with the main Shadowkeep story missions, to unlock the Lectern of Enchantment. The Essence of Vanity is not part of the story requirements, so it is not hindering your progress with the story. It can safely wait in your inventory, until you are able to access the Lectern to redeem the Essence. If you are not sure as to what your next step may be in the Shadowkeep story, here is a link to a very handy walkthrough guide. https://www.shacknews.com/article/114274/destiny-2-shadowkeep-campaign-walkthrough As to the Dreambane class item that you dismantled, you should be able to claim a new one from Eris, to cover that need (unless that was changed 🤔). Otherwise, once you have the Lectern unlocked, you can grab another Essence of Despair, which will reward the class item.

Hey there! Can you provide screenshots of your quest tab, the map, and interaction with Eris? Twitter or Imgur will work best. The lectern being dark will indicate that you do not have the cryptoglyph by going to the catacombs for a mission.
