I'm curious. Couldnt find any info on the matter. Maybe I'm dumb. If so much content is going into the vault come November does not purchasing the beyond light dlc make the game not really playable?

7 RepliesI think you're confused. So a few planets will be vaulted and 2 more destinations added. You don't need to buy the dlc to play on the new destinations but to engage in story content and seasonal activities you will need to purchase the expansion. New subclasses will also likely be locked behind the expansion purpose. Current content that takes place on vaulted areas such as campaigns and whisper mission etc will no longer be playable. I think that's the gist.

7 RepliesWhat? What do you mean, not playable?

3 Repliesyou're worried that there won't be enough content to play when older content gets vaulted and you don't buy beyond light? seriously, if it's not a flashpoint, how often do people go to titan, mercury, mars (i will miss EP), etc?

4 RepliesWell, it won't cost you anything to find out.

1 ReplyIf you’re on Xbox and have game pass it won’t matter anyway since it’s all going on there with a subscription. But yes. If you don’t get the dlc content, forsaken, shadowkeep and beyond light.... you’re basically only going to have a bunch of patrol areas, pvp and gambit.

1 ReplyEdited by Corrick II: 7/30/2020 7:32:15 PMTypically patrol areas and basic activities in new locations are available to everyone. The benefit of purchasing is having access to raids and other high level activities as well as some quests and loot. The game will be playable, it just won’t be 100% playable if you don’t purchase the new expansion. Basically how it’s been for a while.

2 RepliesI clarify, you can still play the game. The Cosmodrome, Europa and all other destinations are still available. You might be locked out of certain activities if you don't buy it, but you will be able to explore the new destinations. But Titan and the other planets will go away regardless.
