So, as seen on the Moon and Black Garden, the veiled statue appears like a human woman. Could those onboard the pyramid ships be ancient humans that left with the Darkness long ago? I remember in Halo there were
advanced ancient humans that were forgotten after the Forerunner Flood war
, so it could be similar here.

1 ReplyInteressting. So you think that maybe we will fight 'darkness guardians'?
-
1 ReplyThe darkness is the same as the light. they give sertain kinds of power and we are users of the light, like the hive are users of the darkness (taken/sword logic). There is no darkness race like there is no light race. Image a pyramide was above the last city and the traveler was going after it. They are just 'entities'. The pyramid have kind of their own ghosts (i think) in the shape of pyramid scales ( smallest of pyramids, contact event).

10 RepliesThe darkness race will be mechanical beings, i guess. Why? Because our ghost is a mechanical being.
-
2 RepliesWhy does everything has to be related to mankind? I hope the darkness will be more lovecraftian, weird, really alien and beyond our comprehension.

1 ReplyFrom what I know the fifth enemy race are called the veil. With many recent lore books i.e the "unveiling" giving nods or hints to them. Theres old concept art with the same statue in the pyramid ship on the moon and in the garden raid. Byf refuses to comment on the subject because it was leaked info back in the day.

Edited by Chucky: 7/31/2020 9:29:13 PMIn a weird way ghosts are the light race and we are resurrected. I would imagine it’s possible the darkness race could be a similar entity. With all this blurry lines hints and dark and light being necessary, could the thing exo stranger have be this equivalent I speak of?
more inclined to believe it’s an ahamkara
10 RepliesThis is a Spoiler for Halo (and unnecessary one at that) maybe use a warning next time?

1 ReplyI believe the Darkness race can be us or any other race that evolves and embraces it, giving a profound meaning to the "unveiling" Eris is talking about. Whatever the case is, there IS a Darkness race and the Revelation lore book mentions them at the end and I think parts of "The Black Armory Papers" entries. Bungie tryna throw us off by having the first Pyramid appear empty to it's more shocking when they appear.

Racist

6 RepliesI stopped playing but was under the assumption there is no darkness race. That old doodle from D1 I thought was abandoned and eventually became those stupid floaty ghosts in Shadowkeep. ( horrible dlc). Darkness is now more akin to the Traveler, ( whose been completely un-involved and uneventful to the story of this franchise), traveler=Doritos...No?

84 RepliesI recon the “Darkness Race” is whatever Drifty found and what Cayde drew in his journal.
-
2 RepliesPersonally I doubt it, that doesn't really fit with the Darkness and it's whole "nothing is worthy of living but me" mentality

Doubtful.
