Destiny 2 has an enormous amount of endgame content in the form of chasing after God-rolled weapons. Legendary weapons are finally in a state where you can search for multiple God-rolls that suit different playstyles. However, there is one infuriating part about searching for these godly weapons, and that is the inability to reroll your masterwork. I recently got a Dire promise with the perks I wanted, but a waste of a masterwork in the handling stat. Other weapons might benefit from such a masterwork, but the lightweight frame HCs come with superb handling intrinsically. It is such a frustrating part of this game to finally get the roll you have been searching for, only for it to come with the wrong masterwork. Being able to control more of the RNG aspect of the game has been massively succesful and appreciated in the past (just look at weapons from the Menagerie where you could decide the masterwork). In Destiny 2 year one we could reroll any masterwork at will. I don't see any good reasons behind the removal of that mechanic. Bungie might have wanted to extend the endgame by adding another RNG-factor to weapons, but with the massive perk pools that weapons come with that aspect seems wholy unnecessary. A wrong masterwork won't necessarily ruin a gun, but the wrong masterwork makes sure that the weapon will never live to its full potential.
