I mean, it's pointless. All that putting a light limit on my Masterworked Tatara Gaze god roll is gonna do is make me reforge an exact copy of it and masterwork that, so no, it won't get me to change my weapon. And armor? It's a cakewalk to get another of whatever piece you want.
What's really enraging me about the power limits is that sunsetted weapons will now become permanently obsolete. Like the sniper/ rocket launcher from season of dawn? Next season, I'll never get to use or see them again, because bungie will increase the light level of everything again(this also annoys me). And now that revoker, mountaintop, etc. are dying, those will eventually be unusable.
Not only did no one want to have sunsetting "solved" by this, but it doesn't even do what it was supposed to. I made an exact copy of my Waking Vigil hand cannon, with a higher Power limit. So it's not like my setup changed at all, I just have to do more grinding to make it exactly what it already was. Please, can some dev read this or something and remove this next season? I know it's already been asked a million times, but so far it seems permanent. And while it may not seem important to you now, things will hit the fan when next season starts and half your items can no longer be upgraded.

Yes but when did bungie care about our happiness?
-
Literally everyone who isn’t short sighted or bad at crucible hates it,it’s a dumb idea some dummy had.
-
Bungie be 💩ing on everyone’s grind...

Weapons I’m all for it. Armour is a no no from me. They should just retire the seasonal perks if they don’t want them in the game anymore

This is a long time to be pissed about a video game lol

The point is to make you keep paying to keep playing to earn the same things you've already earned. Power creep is a lie.

18 RepliesIt'll be good to see players finally put down their Mountaintops and Beloveds in endgame PvP, to be fair.

Edited by Blaze_of_Gory_: 8/1/2020 6:12:41 AMBungie forcing us to use new/"improved" weapons/armor. Once I can no longer use the load-out I like (regardless of whether it is 100 or more below max light), on to other games....Sunset = Night Night/Bye-Bye....

3 RepliesNo. Lots of adults also play the game and we manage not to get hung up on silly nonsense like that

2 RepliesWe won’t know how bad it will be until the new season drops. Sunsetting will work if Bungie can produce the amount of new content needed to replace the gear being capped. If they can’t? Forget it. It’ll be yet another bad decision they’ll roll back later because it fell on its face. As usual.

6 RepliesWhat really bothers me is I can't find a machine gun that doesn't sunset. Are there even any?

There is no increased level or power. You simply get a little closer to the power level of the enemies. But will never catch up.
-
I'm still pissed that power has been nothing more than a timegate since D1.
-
Power Level: Ordinary and vulnerable. Supers: Ordinary and vulnerable. Getting one shot by a red bar enemy is just like The Division 2. Worthless gear, worthless weapons. Algorithm loot.
-
It's really doesn't bother me it feels like what they did in d1, it's just another way to limit players access to content.

2 RepliesI've found nothing to replace my Austringer and Subtle Calamity worth using to me, and nothing has dropped for me armor wise that has stat numbers as high as the armor I have now.

1 ReplyArmor sunsetting is the part that makes no sense to me. The first thing I did this season was pick up two sets of armor with the exact same stat tiers as the armor I'd been wearing since season 8. There is no statistical difference between my old armor and new armor. The part about weapon sunsetting that frustrates me is that there are either no easily farmable replacements for some of my weapons, or there are no weapon replacements in a particular archetype at all. I have no idea what to replace my Blasphemers with because it was already the only legendary kinetic slug shotgun in the game. For slugs in general it kind of sucks that there's only going to be one that'll still light viable after sunsetting starts compared to a good 7 or so pellet shotguns. Then there's the reissued Arsenic Bite I picked up this season in order to still have a decent energy bow to use. It's basically the same as my Subtle Calamity that's getting sunset, but due to being a lightweight bow it's stats are actually a bit worse. Then there's my Blast Furnace. Probably one of my favorite weapons to use right now, and one that doesn't have a clear replacement for me to chase after. Sure there's the Cold Denial, but the range dropoff it has is just painful in comparison. Thankfully a lot of my other weapons had decent replacement options this season, but still gotta love that feeling of having to replace a couple favorites with weapons that are noticeable downgrades to them, or not having a clear-cut replacement option at all because of an empty archetype.

2 RepliesI think lots of people are bothered and have questions. But here you will get a lot of people claiming that it is "good for the game" and "no big deal". As presented, there does not appear to be any benefit to the game overall or the player that could not have been accomplished via balance and the continued addition of perks like Killing Wind, Sympathetic Arsenal, etc. Couple those with the excellent balance adjustments to reload and damage perks, the whole idea of needing this to somehow maintain a power balance in D2 is silly.

1 ReplyLuke or someone at bungie swore up and down this would be the greatest summer in destiny history. Im still waiting.

13 RepliesEdited by Yosemite Sam: 7/31/2020 12:00:07 AMI'm tired of my Guardian that is supposed to be powerful feeling like a damn pansy. This company doesn't know what the hell they are doing anymore. Correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to recall this company saying they weren't going to nerf us to the ground. It was bad enough as it was in the first game how the nerf happy team went on a rampage for 3 freaking years of nerfing that they destroyed a lot of things in the game. So when you say power, I'm like what the hell is that in this game knowing we can't even take damage worth a damn.

It's simple just don't give them any of your money. People must be thinking the same because the pre orders are rubbish for beyond light.
