Advice on Titan Survivability

This is only regarding PVE, I was wondering what some Titan builds are to become a true tank, if any. I have my recovery up to around 80, depending on what exotic I'm using. I've been really noticing lately that Titans don't have a good way of staying alive like the other classes do. Hunters can go invisible and warlocks can heal themselves. All Titans have is a wall and splash damage just laughs at that. The only way to really heal yourself is to get ability kills on certain subclasses. Any advice on this? Maybe something I'm just not thinking about?

    • For pve...Bottom tree striker and synthoceps. You don’t need any weapons. You don’t need the super. Keep punching everything and you cannot be killed. Seriously. I just punch my way through entire gambit matches and usually place tops for kills and notes deposited.

      • Rally barricades stop splash damage, it's all I use as towering is a false sense of security in PvE. If you want healing with it, try the Chest of Alpha Lupi. Also try any rifle with unrelenting for heals, or pair Stronghold with Ruinous Effigy for pretty much invincibility. Monte Carlo + Defensive strike.. There are a few different ways to keep your health up through gear perks and such, I would suggest googling some Titan builds and see what you can find.

I run with a average or 50 plus on all stats I have two stats at 60 and one at 70 but don't remember what. I run armentarium so I have two grenades a gnawing hunger with kill clip and demolitiononist so I don't have to change my load out for pvp, falling guatine, and outbreak. Middle tree sentinel and magnetic grenades. Because of middle tree clearing adds is easy one grenade any u can clear a entire room, or a well of radiance in cruicable as well Magnetic makes it so everything blows up twice, cause of middle tree u get a extra explosion and it just chains around the room. Towering barricade is helpful if u can plan the orientation. Even tho u tuned up ur recov this severely weakens u overall When u do that it takes away from other stats. If u balance everything out u are much more powerful and are able to withstand more even if your recov is lower Put ur mods based toward ur weapons I have oppressive darkness so grenades do more damage, Better already and don't hold onto ur super as the post below me points out in a response. For me this lpadput allows me to put out high dps due to oppressive darkness and falling guatine for pve and decent defense with auto and pulse mods. And allows me to also be very aggressive in cruicable because of gnawing hunger, have range covered with outbreak, only weak spot is I don't swothc out my heavy but I don't have mods for my sword so it doesn't effect me, for me it is to situational and if I put mods on it is for mabey 30 seconds at a time and mabey twice during a match but the rest of the time it is usless

          • Is what I do on my Titan is try to keep the white bar from turning red. When you get shot a white bar appears at the top of your HUD. I find that if you keep it from depleting you stay alive. Have you tried this? But with all seriousness run bubble, MT, Effigy, guillotine, and strong hold arms. Get a orb then block and you are nearly invincible.

There are no real defined roles in this game, so I doubt Titans will ever really be tanks. I'm a Warlock main and I actually run high-ish resilience (83) and recovery (52) on my Warlock cause high recovery isn't much faster than mid to low it seems to me and the higher resilience keeps my Warlock alive longer without depending on an exotic armor piece.

          • In PvE titans don`t have good way staying alive? I am using Top tree void with Crest of Alpha Lupi. You can heal with the alpha lupi, you can stack armor mods so you have barrier more often, you have bubble to survive, you have ability - melee kill to gain insta heal and overshield on the subclass. And BTW all of this things are going to help the team as well. They just need to be close to you for the melee kill or healing barricade.

          • Synthoceps with bottom tree striker or top tree sentinel. Both allows for heals on melee kills and as well as other buffs like increasing dog and reload speed. Sentinel gives a overwhelming as well.

          • A solar warmind build with bottom tree sunbreaker is the absolute best for staying alive. Destroying warmind cells create sunspots and more warmind cells. Pair it with the seventh or ikelos line of weapons with xenophage and youre a monster

Mask of the quiet one is my absolute favorite Titan exotic. It gives your your full health (not shield) back upon killing an enemy. It may not sound super incredible initially, but this helmet has saved my ass more times than I could count. I have this exotic one 90% of the time. With this helmet, you could run into a hoard of enemies and start punching away and never die, like a true Titan.

            • Pick Bibbke Titan. Go to a loading zone. At the moment it loads, be falling in the air. Pop a titan bubble while falling at the exact moment the zone loads. You will notice a quick super animation and then it cuts like the bubble tried to form but popped. You’ll know you did it right if you have purple footprints. You now have a permanent buff until you die. The same buff you have when your bubble is active. Some people call it “god mode” but it’s not, it’s just a glitch that makes you buffed.

              • The only way I survive in PvE when I’m playing as a Titan is by destroying everything I can. Bottom tree Sunbreaker is one way to go. Even if you don’t kill a major you can still flinch the snot out of them by creating sunspots everywhere.

                  • Titans have a ton of things for survivability but they all require you to put yourself in harm's way to get it which sucks because that becomes not so great in hard content. Middle tree sentinel is the only exception because boom give you heal.

                  • Sunspots and Hallowfire are always a win. Ehroar on YouTube usually posts some build videos so you can check that out if you like.

                    • Yeah, I think all titans are using subclasses matched with the appropriate builds / exotics? I used to always run recover 9+, but I think that is has been nerfed. I enjoy using the bottom tree solar, since solar ability kills grant healing. You get healing when standing in sunspots and faster ability generation (so you can get your melee and made back quickly) This pairs nicely with Hallowfire Heart and pretty much gives you unlimited healing. I really only have an issue when people steal kills close to me when I'm trying to get a melee. I'm generally using discipline build with termite nades (burning line) Also with this season, in particular, I find it useful to use minor resist and major resist mods. I think you can stack a couple and that will really cut down on how often you die. It won't substitute doing something like forges where your teammates stop killing stuff and just steal the orbs under your feet. There are also mods that will help get your super back and get your abilities faster which pair nicely with this build and will feed your abilities. You start stacking a few of these things and it makes things way easier.

                    • Insurmountable skull fort heals you and gives you another melee attack. Bubble Titan has a healing punch. Team up with a Warlock with healing rift. Teamwork makes the dream work. This game kind of wants you to play as a team and help each other

                    • I am aiming to build a high recovery/intellect build with a decent amount of strength. Since I main bubble titan or solar spot hammers, I use the defensive strike or solar spot for survivability. With super I use helm of saint 14 or phoenix cradle, both boosting my survivability. If I Use any of the striker trees I use insurmountable skullfort, especially with bottom tree. If I have the spare energy I will use the ‘better already’ mod since I really only use MWed weapons
