I think everyone knows why sunsetting is a bad idea at this point I’m not hear to beat a dead horse but what I’m hear to talk about is something that I don’t hear. Weapons ornaments. You heard me right, what about the thousands of silver me and many other people spent on legendary weapon ornaments in the past are they going to get refunding when sunsetting happens ? And I can already hear the replies “but... but ... but you can still use it in normal content” first off I didn’t buy the ornaments for any normal weapons that I’m gonna take into vanguard strike I buy it for weapons that I can use EVERYWHERE. Games like apex legends have stated themselves that they will not be vaulting old guns because they value the money people have spent on their games, can’t say the same about bungie. Listen I think people are always hard on bungie when they mess up but this is just pure Idiotic, please rethink.
Oh and for anyone saying “too bad” it’s not the money I care about, it’s the shady business practices.

4 RepliesWeapons should have transmog as well. Plenty of other games can do it.

24 RepliesWell you bought the weapons for something that was not guaranteed. Tough. Plus sunsetting is great IMO so worth

Edited by TH3N0RS3F0RC3: 7/29/2020 8:51:08 PMPeople need to really start paying attention to the ToS when they buy a game... you agreed to this exact situation. This isn't an impossible problem... it's willful ignorance...
"Service Provided Content" consists of those materials provided to you (e.g., unlockable content, accounts, stats, virtual assets, virtual currencies, codes, and achievements) in connection with use of the Bungie Services. While the Bungie Services may allow you to “earn”, "buy", or "purchase" Service Provided Content within or in connection with gameplay, you do not in fact own or have any property interest in the Service Provided Content. Unless otherwise specified in writing, any Service Provided Content that you receive is licensed to you as set forth herein, and you shall have no ownership right thereto. Unless specifically permitted by Bungie, you may not, sell, lend, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer any Service Provided Content. Service Provided Content may not be transferred or resold by you for commercial gain in any manner, including, without limitation, by means of any direct sale or auction service. Service Provided Content may be altered, removed, deleted, or discontinued by Bungie at any time (e.g., upon termination of this Agreement and/or cessation of online support for the Bungie Services), even if you have not “used” or “consumed” the Service Provided Content prior to alteration, removal, deletion, or discontinuation.
You spent real money on cosmetics... LOL.

2 RepliesYou paid to get a cooler look for your gun, not for it to be useful in eternity.

Just another thing to file under the "Sunsetting is a Scam" folder. Sunset my gear, sunset my business.

You can still use the weapons and the ornament.

Edited by Swiftlock: 7/29/2020 2:57:17 AMSunsetting is not an impossible problem. Bungie sunset our weapons in D1, but there wasn't much complaining. You know why? - Factions... - Gunsmith packages... - Vendor refreshes... - Brand new Iron Banner gear... - A solid expansion with an unforgettable raid, a good story and Court of Oryx, which was a great public event... D2 screwed up when it introduced sunsetting by capping our gear and then reintroducing the exact same gear.

4 RepliesGo play apex legends then!

17 RepliesEdited by Doctor_Roidberg: 7/28/2020 1:23:41 PMLuke Smith made statements about infusion and wanting our gear to come with us all through Forsaken and into Shadowkeep. They continue selling more and more legendary ornaments. Then they suddenly come up with the revolutionary idea of sunsetting to totally invalidate the gear we bought the ornaments for? Sure, they didn’t technically LIE, they’re allowed to change their minds about game philosophy. But goddamn, that’s the shittiest business practice I’ve seen in a long time.

You can still apply said ornament to said weapon.
-
4 RepliesFirst off, sunsetting has to happen, so they can’t do anything about this. Second, they already said they’ll never sell another legendary ornament in Eververse again, but they can’t do anything about currently existing ornaments. Third, apex legends is a battle royale, not a loot-based game. They do not work the same way and cannot be compared.

Only thing I thought about it today is gambit prime armor which encourages me to get them reckoner title within this season.
