I have been a halo fan since combat evolved. It will always hold a special place in my heart. Im not trying to start a console war or hate on halo. Im sure infinite will be *good* and im sure ill enjoy it but it doesn't look... great.
First, the graphics are getting a pretty decent amount of criticism and I think rightfully so. This is a first party series x game. And some of the screenshots particularly of the brute models look downright awful and im not just talking about the art style. The guns look bland as hell even compared to the last two halo games in my opinion.
The defense to this is "but the game is still in development and 343 said the build is a few months old". Okay, but there isn't *that much* time between now and holiday. Im not sure it's really reasonable to expect the graphics to be that much better if at all.
Now, I dont care that much about graphics. Im actually more concerned about the story.
Halo 5 left off with Cortana taking control of the guardians, "one of which would effectively police a solar system", and she has a lot of them, convincing hundreds of AI's to pledge allegiance to her, and the legendary ending implies she has control of a halo ring. She's got it into her mind that she has not just a right but an obligation to rule the galaxy with an iron fist. For their own good.
But now where is blue team? The guardians? Cortana? Osiris? It gives me the impression they hit the "back to the series roots" button so hard that they screwed their own continuity.

I hated halo guardians with a passion I never raged so hard in my life story and multiplayer

It’s definitely gonna be a let down. Halo 4: cortana dies. Halo 5: nah, she’s fine... no wait, she’s crazy and evil and took over the galaxy, also, barely any chief; also, marketing story did not match with actual story Halo 6: nvm, let’s land on zeta halo and fight the banished just because... nvm that we didn’t resolve the issues with cortana, forerunners, covenant, Halo 6 is gonna feel like destiny....

I think it'll be better than 4 and 5 but a far cry from even Reach.

6 RepliesI wouldn't mind pretending Halo 5 never happened to be honest.

It gives me the impression they hit the "back to the series roots"
And yet there's still Sprint, some new grapple hook that they blatantly ripped off from DOOM Eternal, the DMR is back but fully automatic, and the game is open-world There's that quote "Halo used to be a trend setter, not its a trend chaser" and it remains true with Infinite. But... but at least the BR looks like the Halo 2 BR amirite?

Infinite will be terrible just like the last two games. Nevermind the lackluster graphics, the gameplay looks awful and the story will probably suck as well.

Person opinion, everything looked great!..besides the stupid looking brute boi at the end🤢 Honesty really stoked for it, a little pissed we didn’t get any multiplayer news :/

I thought Halo Infinite was also an Xbox One (X) game, which might explain why the graphics weren’t so over the top?
-
Halo has a story? In 2020?
-
Story is my biggest concern. I don’t understand why the banished are so powerful. Where is cortana etc.

2 RepliesThere is no halo 5 in ba sing se

Combat evolved was game changing, but the more they make the less they care, plus it’s more aimed at the pvp side of things now with a story as an afterthought.

About the graphics. The demo was made using a build in 2019. They used that build Because it was the most stable for the presentation.
-
2 RepliesThey did say that it continued off of the events of halo 5, they're not resetting anything, I think they're owning their mistakes and moving on. And the thing about the graphics is that, not only is it still in development, but because it was just this early demo they haven't added in a lot of things that they will for the graphics. So I really think that it will trump everything else in terms of graphics.

Blue Team is on Reach. The Guardians are spread throughout the galaxy. Cortana is somewhere (prob High Charity chilling with gravedude). 95% chance Locke and Palmer are dead.
2 RepliesDude you only saw the demo not the whole campaign.

Even more reason to get the PS5

I’m gonna try to give it every chance I can, but I don’t have many left lol. At least we have PC halo 3 now. That’s pretty lit

2 RepliesHonestly, I'm fine with the graphics. It's the story that has me worried too. I know the demo takes place after a lot of the story has already happened, but... the plot seems out of left field. I know it's continuing Halo Wars 2, basically, but... this is a main series game. Honestly, the 343 era of halo games is giving me Star Wars Sequel vibes, like... there's no solid plan. Halo 4 focused on the Didact, Halo 5 on Cortana and the Guardians, and Halo Infinite on the Banished? Didn't the Didact survive the events of 4? And we know that Cortana and her Guardians are still out there. So.... when are we gonna wrap up a plot line from the main series? I like the inclusion of the Banished, yeah, but... so far, it seems like it's coming at the cost of spending any amount of time wrapping up the previous story lines. I'm concerned we may get a 1-mission plot point to stop Cortana, maybe bring in the Didact as a side boss or something on the second mission, and then somehow find our way into a war with the Banished and spend most of the game against them. I dunno, maybe I'm not giving the writers at 343 enough credit (or there's stuff in the EU I don't know about that clears up some of the plot points). I don't exactly have much faith that they won't screw this up though. It looks fun, I'm just... not sold on the story.
