Quick question. What are the advantages of buying the season pass?
I'm thinking which pack of Beyond Light to buy. There's the base expansion, the one with the current season and the deluxe with the next three seasons.
The latter two are a bit expensive for me and was wondering if buying the base expansion alone would put me in a disadvantage.
What are the pros and cons of owning the season pass and is it worth it?

Edited by Swiftlock: 7/24/2020 9:20:36 PMThe biggest benefits of the season pass are the XP boosts and progress boosters for catalysts/activities. It really cuts down on the grind. The Eriana's Vow catalyst quest demanded that you do 400 strikes/gambit/crucible matches. During Season 8, pass holders got a 3x multiplier for quest progress. Everyone else had to grind out all 400 instances. People still complain about it to this day.

14 RepliesI’ll need someone to confirm as I’m not sure if BL comes with the pass for season 12 like shadowkeep did for season 8. I’ve heard it doesn’t but I’m not certain. Season passes are viewable if you open your map directory and go all the way right. They’re rewards obtainable by ranking up in experience. They also provide access to seasonal content, which for this season is the umbral engram recaster (which allows you to forums engrams to give you a better shot and the item you want) and the weekly story missions on IO. You’ll also get access to the exotic quests for the seasons and any seasonal exotics as well (this season those are witherhoard and ruinous effigy, both insanely good weapons)

The extra legendary shard when dismantling gear, extra free materials, faster artifact XP leveling, exotic pass catalyst boost, extra exotic engrams for juicy stat rolls, seasonal currency, extra drop rate for seasonal weapons, high stat armor.

Biggest selling point for me every season is the materials and the XP boosts. You level up your artifact noticeably quicker so if you care about getting access to the hard seasonal content quickly, like I do, it is helpful. You also get a handful of ascendant shards which are otherwise hard to get.
