Change Coldheart to S.T.A.S.I.S
It is an ice weapon to begin with and it would make a nice comeback into the meta as a result of this change.
It will also make more sense as the weapon makes them turn into electricity rather than freezing them as it should.
Also please uncensor the word s.t.a.s.i.s bc y’all are using it and it makes no sense to be censored.
EDIT: I have been made aware of the lore saying that the weapon is arc and it is cooled by the coldheart, and that omolon couldn’t access the darkness power. This change is still a nice idea and the lore can be changed or adapted as a result to make it happen.

EDIT 2: Apparently Omolon is working with the drifter to weaponize darkness powers into their weapons. Omolon can in fact upgrade the Coldheart to s.t.a.s.i.s as a result of this finding.

It just says the liquid coolant fuel keeps the beam at subzero temperatures. That's just been the community's justification for the weapon since it came out. It has no true basis in the lore other than the weapon was arc to start out with. It actually makes much more sense that the fuel, when performing an endothermic reaction to cool the gun does not also produce heat. That logic hole in thermal chemistry was something the community just grazed over. Bungie obviously wanted the gun to be an ice gun, the perk longest winter pretty much implies that you're subjecting the enemy to continuous freezing cold. They just had to have it do a specific damage type to have it be in the game.

They are working with the drifter to make new weapons, but they can not and will not change Coldheart because that is not how the weapon works. It shoots an arc stream of molecules that overheats the gun. It then uses its coolant system to cool the gun down, allowing it to ramp it damage up. The coolant is so efficient and effective that the gun is frosty on the outside. That it why it gets its name the Coldheart. Coldheart is arc, not s.tasi.s. They can probably make a new stasis trace rifle, but not change a pre-existing one. Even if they did, it would not be Coldheart. That is not what the weapon is.

3 RepliesJust to be clear, Coldheart isn't a cold themed weapon. The reason why it got its name is because its expending sooo much energy so fast that it's surface rapidly cools and forms frost as it fires. Bungie got the physics right on that aspect.

Why not make a new weapon with st4sis? Why change a gun that already has a perfectly good reason for existing? If Bungie just changes lore randomly for no reason other than “this should be that”, what is the use of having lore?

The lore mentions that it uses its liquid coolant as ammo, and it looks the part too. I'd be in favor if Coldheart was changed to, effectively, ice-damage, with a more tesla coil looking exotic taking its place as arc-damage trace rifle.

The Cold Denial and Falling Guillotine are omolon weapons via there ornaments ,I support changing Cold Heart into the new element And Cold Heart still does a lot of damage, It’s still arguably the best exotic for Calus,after the Witherhorde nerf -

7 RepliesWe shouldn't be changing a weapon's lore just to change it's element. Coldheart was never meant to shoot a "cold beam", and the lore of a weapon [b]shouldn't[/b] be changed (even if it really was that easy, Lore interconnects you know? One change can butterfly effect) when a different weapon could be introduced instead.

No Coldheart should stay the way it is,We will eventualy get a s.t.a.s.i.s one at some point because it is a new element being added to the game for weapons not just a new character subclass.

Except that completely contradicts the weapons lore. It doesn't shoot ice and the new ability isn't even truly ice, just ice-like. I'm sure they'll make a stasıs trace rifle at some point, but they won't re-write the lore for a weapon just because.
