I absolutely suck in crucible and so I recently decided to fix that and start playing more to improve. I started playing control and lockdown and was getting a bit of confidence and started playing better.
Then I read that rumble is the best place to train as you're on your own and need to depend on your own skill instead of the support of a team. And now I'm back to square one with absolutely no confidence and zero skill. I can literally do nothing in rumble except die. Everytime, I get one shotted by someone I didn't even notice. I'm not getting a single kill and have 0 K/D. My K/D in team matches ain't great either with about 0.2 to 0.4, getting maybe 3 or 4 kills in a match, including use of super.
What advice can you give to an absolute sucky noob. I have no clue how to to "git gud" and can't seem to improve at all.

1 ReplyRumble is not the place to go if you're struggling that hard. I'd recommend Control, and hang out with teammates as much as possible. Look for team shooting opportunities, and learn the maps better. Also what's your main weapon in PvP? Rumble will do nothing but make you feel shitty, until you've become a more aggressive player.

You do not belong in Rumble at this time. First you have to learn to play well with a team. In the beginning you may teamshot. As you get better, then you can be aggressive in a team-based match, seeking kills away from the team. After you master that match type you can move on to Rumble. Ignore those posts that state you will obtain skill by STARTING in Rumble. You won't get better; you will get demolished by the high skill players and there will be NO teammates to help you.

1 ReplyPrimary weapons with kill clip are great as most of the time enemies are coming at you single file so you can chain kills together really well. You should be using some kind of special weapon too. A shotgun or fusion rifle are good choices for players like you. I don’t recommend sniper rifles because you’ll get shot in the back while aiming down sights. Once you get your sea legs you can start messing around with snipers. If you are playing on a tv (high input lag) make sure to change it to gaming mode(reduces input lag). I would recommend playing on a gaming monitor if you can (virtually no input lag)

1 ReplyTry to find areas with high traffic and kind of patrol them. It also helps to have high ground on your enemies. Make sure you pay attention to your radar and gunfights that happen near you, figure out what weapons your enemies are using to see what range you should engage them. For example, if you know someone is sniping then you could try to close the gap on them to kill them if you’re using an auto rifle/sidearm. Also you could get a lot of clean up kills if you notice a gunfight that ended near you. If you know someone is approaching you it is extremely beneficial to preaim them and get the first shot off on them. Try to learn how to strafe too, and if you’re using an auto you will win a lot more gunfights if you learn to crouch shot people. For weapons, you really can’t go wrong with a 600 rpm auto rifle and an aggressive frame shotgun as long as your engagements are close to mid ranged. Don’t get discouraged if you die a lot in rumble, most good players play quite a bit of rumble. You will eventually get better at the game. Rumble is good because you are going to be in so much more gunfights than 6v6 and you won’t have the opportunity to just team shoot everyone. Hope this helps

I’m not the greatest at rumble, but in the low amount I played 25 for the redrix, always move. If you can’t win your engagement scurry away. Find two weapons your dialed in with. And be the scab who steals kills when two or three people are dukeing it out.

Find enemies and kill them faster than they can.
it also helps to have a 600 rpm auto rifle.
use suros and a shottt

Keep playing 6v6 for now. Rumble is a stomp fest. Just some builds can be very oppressive in 1v1 fights in Rumble and there are a lot of dirty things. Git gut in 6v6 first. Watch the radar the whole time,be careful not to be left alone against multiple people, keep track of your abilities cooldown, watch out when there is a noise from supers. Find a good combination of weapons that you can play and you can cover short ranges and longer ranges.Try to understand what weapons are against you.

Go play Doom 2016 multiplayer and you’ll come back with reflexes and awareness you never knew you had.

Practice being conscious of your positioning. More often than not, if you die in rumble it's because you had bad positioning and got pinched.

1 ReplyRapid fire sidearms, shotguns. Can’t snipe? Use linear fusions. Aggressive frame pulses are neat. Not that good with weapons? Spec your armor (mobility, resilience, recovery, discipline, intellect, strength) look into exotic armor that increases the effective use. Don’t be afraid to fight dirty, there is no honor in the crucible. Look at what your enemy uses to kill you. LFg has some that like to private match. Go forth

2 RepliesGrab a Rose(Kinetic Hand Cannon) and a Botheration(Kinetic/Energy Shotgun), and use the barrel option that gives the highest Range. Your current weapons equipped aren't exactly competitive, though I'm not sure if you're using them in PvE or PvP. They're not that great in either though. Alternatively, if you want to snipe, find an Aachen(Kinetic/Energy Sniper Rifle) and use the Ambush scope on it(it has less zoom). That's pretty much a good PvP starter pack. And then when you got weapons of the same or similar type, but with better perks like Rangefinder or Quickdraw, just use those, since they'll essentially be direct upgrades. Or if you want to use a Fusion Rifle, find an Erentil with a random roll, and then go into your collections and grab the one with a static roll that just has Under Pressure. Examples: Rose ---> Dire Promise, Spare Rations, Thorn, Austringer, Better Devils, Ace of Spades, Waking Vigil, etc. Botheration ---> Mindbender's Ambition, Retold Tale, Felwinter's Lie(though it's currently unobtainable), Astral Horizon, Dust Rock Blues, Toil and Trouble, Chaperone, etc. Aachen ---> Beloved, Sole Survivor, The Long Goodbye, Fate Cries Foul, Eye of Sol, Revoker etc.

1 ReplyI'm not a great player, but I enjoy rumble most of the time. I learn a lot from rumble but it does tend to only attract good players most of the time. I inspect people and see what weapons, perks, builds they are using. The good thing about rumble is if you get someone that is just rolling over the team, the matches don't last long. In rumble, you always spawn surrounded, so you have to plan for that. If you are a noob, then you'll need some time to learn the maps. How to use cover and the paths most people take, etc. I'm sure next season will be better because there will be pinnacles and that will draw in more players.

3 RepliesJust keep playing and you'll get better K/D and ELO don't matter they are just stats. Find a your own play style weapons that best suits you, and your class and your subclass (and nades and exotics).

3 RepliesRumble is by far the greatest Crucible mode to play if you’re looking to improve your individual skill. Don’t feel discouraged if you get beaten on your first several games. Everything takes time to get good at it. Rumble trains multiple factors of your game skill such as your 1v1 skill, map knowledge, kill cleanup effectiveness, etc. I highly recommend using a setup which consists of an great rolled Sidearm, Auto Rifle, and any heavy you feel comfortable with. Heavy only spawns in occasionally so it’s best to rely on your primary and special weapons to get the majority of your kills. The best sidearms to use are Drang, Last Hope, and Foul’s Remedy. The best Auto Rifles to use are Suros Regime, Gnawing Hunger, and The Summoner. The reason to use a auto rifle and sidearm is because these weapons cover every practical range that you’ll find an engagement in. Not to mention, Auto Rifles are very forgiving if you happen to miss some shots. Keep practicing and you’ll eventually get better; it just takes time. It can be challenging using new weapons so I’d recommend going into a team based Crucible mode before testing your skills in Rumble. Once you can score a around 10 kills in a game, try giving Rumble a shot. Best of luck to you!

12 RepliesGenerally in rumble people will be rushing you so use a Shotgun, sidearm, maybe even a smg if your comfortable with using it. You will also always want to have a mid or long range weapon. With the weapons you are using equipping mods that increase aim assist, and reload can help you get better with the weapon and save you.
