I can’t decide who designed the strike – was it the guy who invented the Whoopie cushion, or the guy who invented the Claymore mine? Was it someone who’s a big fan of trying to pass a kidney stone? How about the people who came up with the IRS form 1040?
Part one: the street without joy.
Part two: everyone’s favorite, trapped in a small room with an overwhelming amount of invincible monsters, and your only hope is to hit them with the mystery ball.
Part three: the dance hall from hell.
Part four: just like part two, but now you’re in space. An overwhelming amount of monsters, and the main bad guy can telekinetically push you over the side or hit you with some sort of projectile fart.
Part five: Really the same thing over again, except now we’re on some sort of cosmic donut.
The end: is it any wonder everyone shoots the techeun after we’ve “rescued” her.
Standby, the orchestra conductor is queuing your note up, so the chorus of people who come in and say “oh I do that Nightfall all the time solo, armed with only a turkey baster” can put in their opinion.
Don’t care. It is not fun. I’ve had more fun trying to strain one out when I was constipated.

have you seen LoS ? (lake of shadows)

I dunno, that strike is easy. Probably because I farmed the shit out of Horror's Least a long ass time ago when Forsaken dropped.

15 RepliesEdited by GalaxySpider: 7/23/2020 7:17:34 AMbohoo, I can't stand back, camp and shoot monsters and bosses.... god forgive that the game actually offers a challenge by forcing people to stay mobile. Push back mechanics aren't a problem if you stay far away enough. She has no no actual lethal attacks in terms of DPS in exchange. Throwing the relic actually forces people to learn and play in a team. Not to mention you are not forced to throw it back to a teammate. The relic just gets stronger by doing so, yet it still damages enemy shields if you don't "charge" it via a teammate. The strikes design is fantastic. Beautiful locations, some few interesting encounters with obstacles (blights during lift, ascendant real during ogre encounter, floating speedy rocks during jumping sections). Funny how everyone complains about people requiring mechanical and learninh skills for Raids or difficult missions because they get kicked out of it or aren't accepted for one, yet at the same time said people are to lazy to pay attention, learn jumping, clearing adds with a certain sense, learn encounter spawns etc. How ironic...

1 ReplyNope, that belings to Exodus Blue or whatever

7 RepliesNot the worst. Don't forget The Wretched Eye. On second thought, let's do forget it. I'd rather do the unfixed Exodus Crash. I really don't have a problem with the strike itself. It reminds a lot of some of the more mechanic intensive D1 strikes. Because of that, if you are wanting to speed run it, you're not going to be able to bypass content. If you have people who don't know the mechanics, you'll have to either carry them (if you're good enough) or hope they figure it out. Well, you can always bail out, something I've had to do only once or twice early on. The biggest problem with this strike is there isn't a reward that makes it worthwhile. Dust Palace was a PITA and took more time than I often wanted, but, damn me, I wanted those Hunter cloaks! I wanted Treads Upon Stars and Grasp of Malok. They were some of my favorite guns. I loved rockin' the Omnigul Bond on my Voidlock. D2 loot? Why take the effort? Where it's weapons, they don't have the enduring value of Treads or Grasp. Where it's effectively cosmetic, it's largely reskins not something truly unique and timeless like that Omnigul bond or Flayer cloaks.

21 RepliesOne of the two strikes that I will back out of almost unconditionally in a strike playlist.

Love this strike. I hope for more like it. Difficult, with mechanics. And pretty!

5 RepliesEdited by TheArtist: 7/23/2020 7:48:31 PMThat strike is everything wrong with Bungie’s Destiny 2 approach to content design and “difficulty”. “Hey! I’ve got an idea.” “Let’s hear it.” “Let’s **challenge** the player by forcing them to deal with random, arbitrary, OHK deaths that are not unavoidable. Lets get them tilting by randomly knocking them around in ways they can’t stop, can’t avoid, and frequently results them being knocked off platforms to fall to their deaths!” “Great idea, Jim. Run with it....”

This is why the base 750 nf should have Matchmaking anything after hell no.

2 RepliesThe issue isn't the Nightfall per se, it's the fact you have to do it with sub par weapon archetypes on Legend or above. You need arc, void and solar elements, then you need unstoppable and overload enabled weapons. Overload comes on bows or sidearms and unstoppable on a single exotic bow or pulse rifles. Bows, sidearms and pulse rifles are all crap at clearing mobs when forced into champion mod and elemental combo's needed for the Ordeal this week. Add to this the massive amount of splash damage the enemy throws in tiny spaces and it's damn near impossible to complete with a score over 100k. (Oh and it's the blinky-blink taken as well, just for good measure)

I really didn't like strikes that had all these cheap ass ways to die. I die 2-3 times every time I ran this strike, regardless of the difficulty. It's always the same crap, jumping and stomp deaths. It's cheap and annoying.
-
The only benefit to this being the Ordeal is that so many blueberries didn't realise you can throw the ball to each other, which meant each encounter was repeated MULTIPLE TIMES! I got all my umbral traces in one failed run.
-
It takes so long and it's really the only ordeal that needs proper Co operation, it sucks ass really
-
The ORDEAL version on Heroic difficulty is farcical. E.g.this week: Step 1: Get matched with two Blueberries who have no Unstoppable or Overload weapons or mods between then. If Bungie think their terrible Champion Mods system works they should take a look at the average MM team on this - randoms just don't understand how to read the mods or set themselves up. A joke.. Step 2: Use up 30 mins just getting to the Teuchen first stage with random deaths to falling and unstoppable ogres going rampant with only 1 team member able to stun them (see Step 1) Step 3: Randoms don't know they should pass the Relic to a team-mate to charge it so you waste a load of time and wipes trying to take off her shield before dying to random launches into the abyss you are powerless to prevent Step 4: Limp through to the end repeating steps 1-3, with a terrible score and no platinum rewards Abysmal...

3 RepliesI have no idea why Bungie thinks enemies that push you off the map and spam abilities equal difficult content. Because it leads to obnoxious gameplay that makes you want to quit before you bash your skull into a wall.
-
3 RepliesEdited by MajorOpossum993: 7/23/2020 2:36:26 PMOnly thing I can’t stand is the ability spam the enemies seem to favor. Ability spam isn’t challenging it’s just annoying.

Edited by Alphard: 7/24/2020 5:01:14 PMI just hate Sedias endless boop mechanic. Its excessive and just gets annoying after a while...Everything else about the strike I really like. You know Bungie, every boss HAS to have an annoying stomp mechanic of some kind lol Sedias by far is the worst.

I just ran The Corrupted Nightfall GrandMaster, I got it finished and it took about 7hrs to do ( First Time ) I’ll get to the point, the rewards are a joke and is absolutely ridiculous how I got an Energy Weapon, One Enhancement Prism, 3 shaders, some XP and Mats with some blues. What is this? Why am I not guaranteed an Exotic or at least some good stuff, I did not just do a 1100 Nightfall for some horrible rewards. It’s so dumb on how when players of YOUR GAME are rewarded with gear that basically comes from a normal Crucible match. Why am I rewarded so badly for completing the most challenging activity in D2

2 RepliesEdited by Hitman Howard: 7/23/2020 10:42:27 PMAfter all this chatter I bet "The Corrupted" is busier than ever today. 😂😂😂 Edit: just went and did a hero and it took 32 minutes at 27,000+ points Not great but it wasn't too painful. Oh yeah... Only got "poofed" out of the map once.
-
Could you please not mention our turkey basters? If bungie finds out, they will be nerfed, then sunset, then we will have to grind them out all over again. I would rather just keep the one i have. Shhhhhhhhhh.
-
I think the corrupted is the only thing better than gambit

Bungie tested out everything to be consistent (anomalies are widespread throughout the entire game) on having inconsistent difficulty in various activities, simply because those difficulties were artificial and when mixed up with inflated power levels (if you can’t get ammo or get health back, your 1095 power won’t do shit in there), also it’s not from well structured designed system where there is a way the difficulty could be calibrated to be inline with other strikes at the same level. That requires some engineering work after sufficient education and experience in the field.
