Recovering an old PS4 account for destiny 1
When I made the move to PC gaming I initially sold my old PlayStation and of course wiped the console therefore deactivating my account. Now as destiny 2 is becoming dryer than ever I was wanting to hop back over to destiny 1 if I bought myself an old console but is there a way I can re-acquire my old characters under a new pan ID, if not then don’t you think this is extremely flawed as I can see my current characters on Websites such as Destinytracker?

Characters are locked to your psn ID. Login, it's all there still.

Wiping a console does not deactivate an account, it just removes any saved account information on that console. The reason you can still see your characters is because they still exist under your old PSN. If you sign in with that account, you can pick up D1 where you left off previously.
