The Darkness creatures...Will we fight them in Destiny 2?

So, a lore entry from the Black Armory, it states creature that have Green skin, sharp claws and has the smell of wet earth. Could there be a possiblity of fighting these creatures in the Witch Queen Queen expansion or the Light Fall expansion? Also to throw this out, I had a dream what the pyramids would do and what these things looked like. I imagined the ships all coming together to make a large pyramid that would destroy the Light with the energy that exerts out of them. And the way the creatures looked is Green, but in different looks. Having weapons that are similar to Hive, but are militaristic like Cabal. But seeing lore from the wiki, I'm clearly wrong on one part but not sure on the other.

<The things that attacked the BA Founders had no mention of their physical appearance. All that was mentioned was the smell of wet earth, a common thread since the Taken smell of ozone. Assuming those are indeed Darkness-related, then it's possible that it's... well, something. I have suspicions that another race is with the Pyramids, making this a war on four fronts (Winnower, Pyramids, primal entities, ???) given some evidence (and the statue). We may see something in Beyond Light, perhaps as a means of getting our new powers. After all, what's better poetically than being given the Light and taking the Dark? Main force comes in Lightfall.>

    • Since they aren’t making D3, yeah. They’ll add some new race, even if it’s only in boss form

    • The drifter has mentioned encountering other species of the dark, many were more likely just random creatures. If you look up concept art of ‘The Veil’ they are one of tye currently accepted theories of a final enemy allied with the dark- we could see them in the lightfall expansion.

    • I've got a theory. We know the pyramids aren't starships. They're sentient cosmic beings like The Traveler. The Traveler can bestow it's light onto humans and it's reasonable to assume the darkness can too. After all, we're getting a Darkness subclass in the expansion. So what if the Collapse wasn't a mass extinction of humanity, but a mass abduction? And what if the foot soldiers of the Darkness we'll be fighting are the humans that were taken by the darkness during the Collapse and twisted and empowered by the Darkness into a race similar to Guardians, but powered by Darkness instead of Light? Guardians and these dark humans will have both existed for hundreds of years and express a devotion to their cosmic benefactors, engaging in essentially a giant proxy war between the two sides. Just a theory, though.

If I had to guess, the creatures described there are probably akin to the nightmares. We know that exposure to the pyramids and the "darkness" energy brings forth nightmares in the afflicted that are very real and can kill. So those types of creatures were running rampant during the collapse.

      • The "Darkness race" are the Pyramids themselves. They are sentient beings like the Traveler. Whoever wields their power is the Darkness race much like how Guardians wield the light and are the Travelers army.
