For someone who has limited time but loves playing Destiny, what frustrates me the most is that nearly all the good weapons / quests have a component of grinding PVP kills. I can manage to complete every other challenge / stage in most cases except the "100 headshots in Crucible", "200 guardian kills" etc. This requires serious grind and time, and not to mention in most cases the folks playing Crucible / Gambit are super kitted out and getting those kills is difficult. I do not mind a challenge and a grind but nearly everything I go for stops at these stages. Yes I can get kills, but tbh its the one here or there, maybe with a good team i can score a few more...but I have limited time with work and family so prefer the PVE play, and teaming up...if I want PVE I'd do something else. Perhaps adding an alternative would be good? Instead of 100 guardian kills, maybe 100 bosses, or even just 20 Crucible / Gambit games completed. Playing against people with better skills, better weapons maybe better network speed, is painful and not fun other than providing them with easy kills.
Come on Bungie, help us family guys (and gals) out who love your game but do not have buckets of time to grind and grind. Give us an alternative to get those best weapons without it always being Guardian kills.

Bungie’s hope is that players interact with all game modes and playlists. They try to get us doing these by incentivising them with quests, pinnacle rewards etc. I think this is fine and we just need to choose whether the time investment is worth the reward.

7 RepliesMaybe dont wait 12-18 months to do these old quests? Do them when they are fresh and then you dont need to worry about those "kitted" players. Not all good weapons are in PVP, some need to be done in Raids. There are many other good guns that are farmable in PVE content too. If you need pvp tips, let me know.

Why is PVP necessary to gain all the good items / rewards?
Its not. There are several quests that require pvp but we have to accept pvp is a part of the game and obtaining all of the items means you are going to have to play all of the game.
