Already have to wait a week to get some but now it's the same light???
Try to understand how the drop system works. It's based on your average light level of all pieces. Not individual pieces of gear

Pinnacles gear values are based on your overall BASE LEVEL power. It is not specific to your specific gear slot. ie. if you are base level 1055, and have a primary weapon drop - it will drop at 1057. Now your next pinnacle drop, if you get another primary it will still only drop at 1057 because your overall level hasn't changed. If it helps, might i suggest using something like DIM (Destiny Item Manager). Not only is a great inventory management system, it will tell you exactly your base level along with decimal values so you can plan your leveling more efficiently.

48 RepliesPinnacle drops are based on your character's overall max base level, not the level of the items in the slot you get the reward for. To get higher level items, you need to get rewards for all weapon and armor slots so your average increases.

Having more than 1 guardian will help you

Pinacle gear is always higher than your total max light. Not higher than your equipped piece of armor.

LoL do your +2 pinnacle drops first. Raids, dungeons, NF, Contact mission Then your weekly +1 pinnacles Strikes, Crucible and gambit.

3 RepliesEdited by Hawk: 7/22/2020 6:41:13 PMI'm not sure anyone has helped you with your question, so I'll try my best to make sure you can work with this strange leveling system. Powerfuls will drop at level. For example, if you have all of your highest gear equipped and you are at 1068 (without the artifact buff) then the drop from a powerful will be 1068. It can be useful to help any gear that is lagging behind with these drops. Pinnacles have two different values and are determined by your overall gear score and not select gear slots. Doing three Strikes, Gambit matches and completing 4 Crucible matches rewards Pinnacles at a +1 value for your overall gear score. Using that last example, if you are at 1068 (without the artifact) then the drop from these two sources will be 1069. This week I got two chest pieces from these two pinnacle options, and both are the same level because my overall score didn't increase. If you do Garden of Salvation, both dungeons, 100k Nightfall, or Master Nightmare Hunt these are a +2 value to your overall gear score. Using the same example again, if you are at 1068 (without the artifact) then the drop from these sources will be 1070. It doesn't take into account what slots are already at 1070, just randomly gives you a drop +2 higher than your overall score. Suggestions/Help If you are confused about your overall level, then I recommend DIM (Destiny Item Manager). It will tell you your overall light based on all your available armor and weapon options. The overall score is determined by taking an average of your light, so if you can, then try to do the +2 first so that your +1 pinnacles are more likely to help you. Powerfuls (as mentioned before) are more useful if you aren't having luck with getting a piece of armor and now it's below your overall average. When Iron Banner comes around all of his weekly bounties reward pinnacles at +2. Iron Banner weeks are great for giving your overall gear score a boost. The Pit dungeon rewards a masterworked pinnacle at the end with not great stats, so keep it around until you get something higher score and dismantle it for resources instead of infusing it and losing those resources. If you need any more help just ask and I'll do the best I can to help out.

This is very likely by design. If I'm not mistaken this had been addressed in previous seasons but it seems like any duplicate protection or odds reduction was recently reduced. This coincides with this season being extended and the fall expansion being delayed. They don't want to lose the attention of those who obsessively chase max light season after season.

Iron banner gave me 4 primary weapons! My last 8 +2 pinnacles have all been helmet, chest or boots! Sometimes that's just the way it is.

cuz bungie wants your grind to last longer simple as that bungie is loathe to let our grinds end, the hamster wheel flushes out the micro revenue

3 RepliesEdited by iBett x: 7/22/2020 10:44:14 AMThe pinnacle are broken in this game. You're constantly getting duplicates its embarrassing. Three pinnacles in a row and they have all been special weapons, two of them the same -blam!-ing gun. We SHOULD have the option to pick whether we want a weapon or a piece of armour. Not to the extent of selecting a specific piece such as gauntlets etc. but just the option of a weapon or a piece of armour. This season has been very bad for duplicate pinnacles. Worse its been in any season of D2 in fact. EDIT: Make that -blam!-ing four special weapons.

1 ReplyPeople really are acting like this dosent happen often. You can go back and look and the hotfixes to correct the issues in the past lol. Wont be the last time either

Edited by Sweet Lew 88: 7/22/2020 6:49:22 AMEither you are maxed out on your armor and guns or you're probably doing it wrong. Which pinnacles are you cashing in? My Titan is 1060 armor and guns, my warlock and hunter need one drop each to be 1060 average.

20 RepliesYou gave only done +1 drop activities today, which can drop at the same or lower then the equipped item you already have. You need to focus embrel engrams to level out your characters items to maximize your pinnacle drops. You still have eight +2 pinnacle drops left this week on your hunter.
