So, I want to start a discussion here because I think this subject is interesting. As you know, Bungie removed the weekly loot lockout for the five raids going away in the Fall/Winter. This has brought up a question in my mind that I’ve been thinking about and want to hear from the rest of the community.
Question: Should all raids have their weekly loot lockout removed?
Now this could be argued both ways so I want to list some pros and cons of if this were to happen.
Pros
-It would allow for more god roll farming/armor stat farming
-It would give players a reason to play raids multiple times a week
-It would potentially make the raids more desirable to players
Cons
-It would potentially make Raid gear feel lesser as it’s supposed to be the rarest loot in the game
-It would potentially cause burnout grinding the same activity, similar to many others
-It could be a slap in the face to players that can’t raid for whatever reason
My take: I think if done correctly, removing the weekly lockouts could be good for the game. The way I would think would be best is what they did with Prophecy. You only get pinnacles the first time through encounters, you can only loot you have already obtained (this would be from all time completions as opposed to just loot you obtained your first run that week).
What do you think? Let’s have a discussion!
