As in the Title I would like an Alternate (No replace) Quest steps that requires PVP
As with the Removal of Skill Based Matchmaking, and the Flood of cheaters in PVP we need an alternate way to get pvp steps done
Let's look at the Thorn quest
In step 5 (weaponize the unknown)
You need around 500 kills with Void or Hand Cannons in PVP
That is a bit much to be honest for non pvp players
I have no problem for a Longer PVE Step as an Alternate path while still having the choice on the PVP path for people who like it
Other Quests you might want to look in to are
1. Cayde's Will
2. The Draw
3. A Good Match
Please Note in no way am i asking for Pinnacle weapons changes As i feel that Recluse, Mountain top, Etc are fine as they are, as they are PVP Pinnacle Weapons and should stay as such, and if someone really wants them they should do PVP

Man i remember when exotics actually meant a damn, you had to be a lucky son of a b to get even just the bounty for one let alone a straight up drop. Even then you had to work for em, sure making them a bit easier to acquire wasn't a problem but now you have this. Where by what lvl10? In D2 you have 2 exotics the game just hands to you and no one thinks they should have to put effort into getting them now. Bonkers it is

5 RepliesSure But give us PVP alternatives for PvE and raid Exotics

Edited by Swiftlock: 7/20/2020 4:28:46 PMNo. Some exotics should push you out of your comfort zone to get. The challenge is part of what makes them special.

1 ReplyYo Otaku =) First of all, ignore all the toxic replies you're receving. Don't deal, neither worry about them. Unfortunately many people in this community don't know manners, but maybe with time things will change =) Your idea is not new in the Destiny community. Many times players have asked for something like this and is some ways Bungie also responded to it. For example, some steps of the Quest for the Ace of Spades were made easier because many players found it too much frustrating to deal with. In the Thorn Quest, for some Steps, you can chose if doing PvE or PvP Activities. However, even If I like the idea, I'm afraid we're never going to see something like this happen. I can't tell you why Bungie make these Quests in this way, so to bring PvP players into PvE Activities and PvE Players into PvP Activities, but it is always been like this since D1. PvE and PvP are perceveid like two separated and completely different parts from a portion of the community, unable to coexist even. You can see this reflected into the fact that we have even contrasts between those who are more dedicated to the PvP scenario and those who instead prefer the PvE experience of the game. Bungie has a different vision: PvE and PvP are parts of the same ecosystem and the trait them as so. I know this may not sound as a convincing explanation, but really, that's all. Exactly as a PvE grind can be terribly boring, a PvP grind can be terribly frustrating. You only have to deal with it in the best possible way for you. For example, about the 500 Kills with Hand Cannons in the Crucible, simply try to don't burn out. If you play solo, playing in Rumble may be the best pick to give you more chances to obtain kills without the fear of getting melted by the crossed fire of two or three opponets stacked together. Another good mode is Momentum Control, so you might wait it to rotate in the Weekly Rotation to give a significant boost to this part. In the end, remember that you don't need to grind 500 Kills in one or two days... if this part of the Quest is really annoying for you, don't force yourself into it. Divide the kills! For example, let's say that you put yourself the goal to make only 10 kills per day. If can do more, good If you can't, who cares? Just leave and wait when you'll feel regenerated and ready for another match. I don't know if you can consider this an anwer, but I hope it may help you.

5 RepliesEdited by RichGhost77: 7/21/2020 8:09:33 AMIf they make raid exotic weapons have an alternative PvP route, sure.

Lol no Stop expecting things to change because YOU don’t like PvP
-
Edited by Freak: 7/21/2020 2:02:55 AMLoL you would have never gotten Thorn in D1. And my retort to you’re post.... No, Not until 1k and Anarchy are made into a optional PvP quest line too.... you’re S.o.L.
-
From experience, I posted something very similar to your post which by the way I whole heartily agree with, and was met with a lot of negativity about my game play abilities so don’t be surprised if it turns toxic
-
Nah some exotics will lean to some type of play some will lean to another if you want all the exotixs you should have to play all the content
-
i agree to an extent because i don't like being forced to do certain activities - that said, PvP weapons, which thorn is, should require you to go into Crucible

I can not count the amount times that I as primarily PvE player, have had to do PvP for an exotic. But I did them just the same. Sure it took a little longer, but the result was the same. If I can do it, so can you.
-
No. And I say this as a PvE main. Hardly ever touch PvP. Part of what made the Thorn quest memorable in D1 (and sort of in D2) is the absolute grind for those void kills. I feel the same way about raid exotics. You gotta do the raid to get em man. That said, the raid exotics should be more common than say 1k or Anarchy. I think Bungie does a good job at giving a mix of quest objectives for various exotic quests. Many of them require little to no PvP
-
You can at least take solace in the fact that other than rare meta shifts most every quest exotic remains out of the meta and feels weak at best of times. Only one in d2 that comes to mind that was good for a while was sleeper and that got nerfed in more than 1 way. Thorn felt harder to get on d2 than d1 imo, but they technically made it easier since it didn’t have negative progression like 1 had. I would just be glad exotic quests are on average easier than they were on 1. There were a few on 1 that were brutal even if you were good at pvp.
