If I direct impact a super with Tether it needs to kill them.

It’s a super. Not a nade. You rarely direct impact anyone with tether anyway. The animation is to slow, it’s not a instant suppress, you get killed out of it all the time. It’s like a slightly better version then Nova. Minus having no tracking

  • How can you compare it to a nova bomb? Completely different, usefulness is different, nova is a Damage super. Tether is a lockdown/crowd control super.

      • Tether is for sure broken. Even if you time it right they still somehow kill you before they get tethered. Anyone who says otherwise is def not a hunter main.

      • I agree but can we also make it so that if Dawnblade directly smashes a regular guardian in the chest, it kills them and not just do 10 damage?

        • They should just give the shadowshot a small medium sized cone aoe on impact, it would give it a small dmg buff, and provide better add potential.

          • I had a match where two tethers (one from my team, one was theirs) were plopped down in the same location, and I got suppressed out of my super trying to shut down an enemy Sentinel's super (totally a bad play from me). Here's the thing: the other guy was clearly tethered as well, but he was STILL in his super. I'm literally like "How the fronk are you still going?!" Granted, he did die a little bit afterward, but his super took an eternity to go away after being tethered.

              There's zero reason for Tether to instakill supers as it has utility beyond being a burst of damage (Nova Bomb, Blade Barrage, Thundercrash). It SHOULD suppress on-hit though.

                • Id say one issue is trying to balance a super for pvp and pve. Maybe that tree was meant for pve, personally Id want Bungie to allow us more customization on all subclasses. Allowing all perks to be available no matter the super, but only 4 total can be chosen at a time. I think Bungies vision for this game is a bit out of reach for them at this point. A lot of supers need some tweaking and SS is one of them. Faster activation, faster suppression, maybe a slowing effect similar to a Hive Wizards shadow zone attack before youre tethered? Top tree would be better in first person imo, to rapidly land multi hits on tethered enemies. As a warlock main, Id love to see some changes to Slova bomb and remove self damage from Bottom tree nova. As much as I love blinking into a titan bubble to kamikaze myself to clean up a control point in IB. It would be nice if it didnt cost my life to accidentally hit the corner of a door frame or barrier or a wall....or a mountaintop/bullets/etc.

                • Shadowshot is hands down the hardest super to use effectively, it really should be a OHK or at least tether instantly. It might be better actually to at least convert bottom tree NS to a roaming super with a bow.

                    • I'd say yes, for top tree. I have managed to kill with direct hits before but it's not guaranteed. Think of all the roaming supers that give you multiple potential OHK while you run about the map and spawn kill someone you just killed - tether isn't mobile so should be a kill on direct hit - you're only going to get one direct kill with it anyway, assuming you get the hit. As for shutting down supers - there's normal grenades that do that so it's not like tether is super unique. OHK on hit would at least make it a bit better.
