Sunsetting is fine (really) but immediate re-issues were a mistake.
Topic Heading.
The post Sunset loot pool should have been all new/not previously current weapons/armor.
Also intitial sunset pool should be smaller (at a minimum not include Shadowkeep/Undying)
These changes would have lead to fewer complaints and more acceptance of the concept initially from the community.

I believe it would be easy for Bungie to correct this retroactively as they have already done exactly this with Last Wish and Garden of Salvation gear. Hopefully, this is a real possibility.

And armor sunsettting is to sell you transmogs for silver. Its all a hamstwheel. Either get off or keep chasing the carrots they take away from you to put back on the string.
