Why is there a hole in the ring of Saturn? You can see it from Titan.

Dreadnought.

1 ReplyIt's the black hole that sucked up all our D1 weapons & armor, so Luke Smith could sell us a "collection game" with more story that sucked and a central HUB around Everworse.

Oryx had a massive space ship, the Awoken tried to destroy it, he made a big boom boom and made rings go bye bye.

3 RepliesEdited by NeonPropose: 7/9/2020 9:02:36 AMWhen we killed Crota back during the Dark Below expansion; he cried out into the Night. Skolas, the Rabid; saw what was to come and tried to rally the Eliksni together. His defeat led to Queen of the Awoken, Mara Sov to call upon Osiris and Eris Morn. Together with the aid of Riven, and the techeuns. They concocted a plan to remove Oryx. Mara’s throne world was built and ready for her death. And with that locked away, Riven caged, and Petra and Variks left in the Reef. Mara, Uldren and an army of Awoken paladins and fighters went to begin the Taken War. Awoken forces engaged in bombing runs of the Dreadnaught. Seeing it had proved too sturdy, Mara, with the assistance of Sedia, Shuro Chi and Kali summoned 7 Harbingers to attack the Dreadnaught. Harbingers are in the words of Shuro Chi during a pilgrimage patrol:
ageless, unfettered minds, twining through the mist like ribbons on the wind.
They blasted through the Hive fleet; dragging rock and debris from ships alike through space and right into Oryx’s Dreadnaught. Nothing. Not a scratch. Mara’s effort hadn’t failed, but the worst case scenario had occurred. Oryx charged up power. Plunged his sword Willbreaker into a mantle. And pushed out his throne world. Destroying the entire Hive and Awoken fleet. The only survivors: Oryx, All Hive aboard the Dreadnaught, Mara and Uldren Sov, Who’d crash land on Mars. The Tech Witches that were with Mara, would be Taken by Oryx and later so too would be Riven. And all that remained of this battle. Was broken ships and bodies. And a hole in Saturn’s rings. And thus the Battle over Saturn ended. And the Taken War began.

Edited by Grays_KS27: 7/10/2020 12:44:36 AMOryx put that hole there. THECHUBBYNINJA2 explained it already, but it would be good to see the cinematic for yourself. The link leads to the cinematic from the Taken King when Oryx made the hole.

It was where Oryx activated the Dreadnaught’s weapon in D1.

A glitch because bungie was too lazy to fill in the rest of saturns moons.
lol
7 RepliesEdited by MimicWithAnIdentityCrisis: 7/9/2020 3:35:34 AMD1Y2 saw the release of The Taken King, in the prologue the Queen and her army of awoken ship attempted to stop Oryx’s fleet. after an initially successful preemptive attack, Oryx used his dreadnaught’s super weapon to wipe out everything within a certain radius of his ship, destroying the awoken within range and creating the hole in Saturn’s ring. Last season when the doritos arrived, they destroyed the dreadnaught- which had sat there since we defeated oryx Edit: i have been told that it has not been destroyed, nor can it be- which is correct in the lore. But i still have this question, when the pyramids showed up in sol, the dreadnaught seemingly disappeared from its circle, haven’t seen it since
