Yo Bungie, prove to me you appreciate me, by doing it anyway! Just to piss off this guy in particular!

12 RepliesSunsetting shows they care about their game. It may not be the best fix and defiantly needs some tweaking but it is a fix for power creep.
-
1 ReplyAnyone else that gets a weapon at max 1060 just dismantle it?
-
Sunsetting is absolutely essential (checks Not Forgotten kill tracker)
-
They already made up their mind on that so you gonna suck it up or keep crying
-
It's good for the game. I can't believe there are morons who think sunsetting is bad
-
18 Replies
Read the title^
Sunsetting is absolutely necessary. Otherwise people would just cling to their old shit. Sometimes you just gotta let things go, and pick up new stuff.
-
2 RepliesNo company cares about the consumer, only the $.

Any person who’s played this game long enough and has some long over do gripes has already quit the game I advise you to do the same they don’t respect you as a player, customer nor do they respect your time investment just quit.

Sunsetting would be fine if they didn’t bring back old stuff

For the longest time, I wondered what Destiny was all about. With the advent of this so called "Sunsetting" bullsh*t, I've seen people comparing Destiny to a game called World of Warcraft, an MMORPG game. Some also compare Destiny to a Magic Card game. Lol. When I hear this it makes me cringe. Destiny is not World or Warcraft. I'm not playing WoW. I'm playing Destiny. Why would you say Sunsetting happens in these games? I'm not playing these games. I'm playing Destiny. Lol. I'm not playing WoW or a Magic Card game! Why would you even justify they are the same and that these games have sunsetting? Destiny is not WoW or a Magic Card game. Now, here's the puncher. A year ago, they announced what Destiny is really all about. After five years of struggling what Destiny is to become, they finally said Destiny is an "Action MMO." Okay, what does that mean for the game? . . . One year have passed and I didn't really feel what that means or what I feel about the game. I still felt I was still playing the same Destiny game. They put a new description as an Action MMO game, but the game really feels the same. Now, fast forward to today and next season. They're implementing this so called "Sunsetting" and compared Destiny to a Magic Card game with sunsetting features. This comparison came from them, the makers of the game. Lol. So, after all these years, 6 years, I finally realized what Destiny is. Do you wanna know what Destiny really is?. . . It took them 6 years to finally say, "Okay, we are sticking to our story!". . . . . . Destiny is a Pokemon Game! It's both a video game and a card game!!! WORD!

Edited by Sluggerage: 7/10/2020 12:27:28 AMAs long as they make new and exciting guns to replace the ones we're losing, I don't really have a problem with it. We'll just have to wait and see what Beyond Light has to offer.
-
3 RepliesBut some of us don't have a problem with sunsetting.
-
3 RepliesI think sunsetting should happen. I don't think it should happen how they've outlined.
-
37 RepliesSo I'm just curious, destiny is supposed to be a "MMO" style shooter. Not saying it 100% is. But this sunsetting thing, is pretty normal in most games that are mmorpg... no games like Warcraft or final fantasy online don't just make things disappear, but old gear, can't be used with new expansions or patches. Old stuff goes away... So I don't understand why everyone is getting so upset about armor and weapons being obsolete... I'm excited for the next new best thing, and tired of the same old shit ...

4 RepliesI just want to see people quit. I’m so tired of reading the posts from addicts who want better product but continue to smoke up the garbage they’re given. Sunsetting will happen. You will all continue to play. Just enjoy the video game for what it is,
a video game
If bungie continues to be dead set on sunsetting then the master working economy needs a massive overhaul Like what is even the point of wasting a good chunk of materials on an item that has no object permanence (which i find funny to think about because its a game but still)
-
4 RepliesI was down with sunsetting until I saw that some weapons being “sunset” are being released at the new cap with the same perks. If it fits within the new meta, there should be a way to upgrade to the new max.
-
6 RepliesAs much as I detest sunsetting because YES I have all the F'ing guns that I want with their godrolls that I would be quite please to keep using for years. Because I earned every one of them either by grinding them till I got the rolls I was looking for or completed the quest to acquire them, and even if someone has the exact same weapon I do, it's not MY weapon. That kill counter is mine, no one else's. No matter how many times the loot pool changes most people will be playing meta - I don't if it isn't my playstyle but most do - and everyone will be using the top 10 kinetic, energy and heavies available. This past IB I saw so many GH energy autorifles it was giving me a headache heading the same sound endlessly. You know what I used? Breakneck...because I like the gun; it's a good gun, and it's MY gun. When I go and play other non-looter shooters, I don't sit there and say, 'I dont like this game anymore because it's always the same weapons.' No...I keep playing because the game is fun, not because I have a junkie mentality that I need to keep chasing dragons. But I will tell you this: as much as I despise sunsetting, I would have kept playing D2 if they weren't sunsetting armor. THAT was IT for me, final straw and slap in the face. Killing enemies is killing enemies whether it's a rocket or a spoon; the result is still the same, dead enemy. Armor sunsetting is literally erasing everything that makes your character truly unique. Armor governs every aspect of how your character functions: ability usage, endurance, speed, healing, etc. Take away your armor and you are no different than a vanilla character with the same access to the subclasses and skill trees anyone else has. So you wanna play the power creep card? Fine, I'll begrudgingly accept that. You wanna play the incentive to chase new weapons. Fine, I'll begrudgingly accept that. But there is no legit reason to sunset armor, especially when we just had a complete armor system overhaul not even a yr ago. Armor is ridiculously tougher to grind than weapons, period. Not only do you need to find a good base roll, but then you have to hope the points are distributed correctly into the attributes you favor. And for those who say, 'well once you get that armor you'll have no reason to grind for another.' That is complete bs, at least for me. Not only do I have one of each character type who I use different playstyles for, but those have subclasses and skill trees that I also play completely different. And quite often the exotic I use is based on that one playstyle a certain loadout was designed for, and that's not taking into account I also have loadouts different for PvE and PvP. And another thing: just because Destiny is a looter shooter, I feel that shouldn't be the main reason you play so much. If you're constantly grinding out loot, when do you actually get to sit back and just rest and enjoy the game? But that really is the TRUE problem: Bungie advertises such engaging content and more often than not fails to deliver. In fact I think the only decent content is the annual big DLC; all seasonal content showed good potential but was lackluster at best. So...as a veteran player who has since D1 beta supported this game through up and downs and purchased every add on that's every been released in all Destiny's history, I'm telling Bungie goodbye, and I'm doing it in the loudest manner possible: with refusing to give them another cent of my money. I will miss the fun I have playing; I will miss my awesome clanmates, and I will miss the lore and being an active part of its progression, but I'm tired of being a fool by supporting a company who delivers the least amount of quality for my money. I'm playing almost every day till season 11 ends, and then I am walking off into the sunset with my gear and memories onto other games. For those of you who continue to support Bungie and play Destiny, enjoy being a bunch of lab rats and hamsters running in wheels.

Mountaintop and Recluse gotta go though.

Bungie only appreciate players money.

not going to happen.

Actually, I'd rather they go forward with the idea.

Edited by MykillSnipes: 7/8/2020 11:50:34 AM
Read the title^
Sunsetting is happening whether the community wants it to or not. I’m not saying I necessarily agree with how they’re going about it, however. My two main issues are: 1) the reissuing of EXISTING weapons with the only difference being the infusion cap such as Gnawing Hunger or Swarm of the Raven. These weapons are being redistributed to us with no new perk combinations, so we shouldn’t be forced to farm for the “God” roll we already have - and probably invested a good amount of time to acquire. THAT is incredibly frustrating, and I hope they address this somehow. In these particular cases, they should boost the infusion cap on the older versions to the current Season of Arrivals cap. Simple. 2) the cost to MW armor needs to be reduced DRAMATICALLY. I personally don’t have an issue with the MW cost on exotics as I feel that should be “expensive” but legendary pieces should in some way almost mirror the current weapon MW system (or be similar). All the prisms and ascendant shards needed to fully MW an armor set is far too much considering those pieces will only be viable from a LL standpoint for one or two seasons. I know for a fact that Bungie will still move forward with sunsetting, but hopefully they’ll find a way to address the issues listed above.
