Who or what is the Vex’s overall “leader”

The hive have the hive gods like Savathûn and Oryx, the canal have Calus and I suppose Dominus Ghaul, the fallen have Kells with their houses, so what about the vex? I’ve seen different minds scattered around strikes, but not an actual leader.

  • Contrary to what most people are saying, the vex are not a hive mind. There are individual vex minds each connected to the wider vex network. The leaders of this network are vast, both in quantity and complexity, and are collectively known as "Axis Minds". There seems to be an even more exclusive sect of vex minds known as the Hezen Lords however, although the last we heard of them was back during Vanilla D1

  • I think it’s more like a hive mind. With one central directive organizing and commanding them

  • My theory is that they have a central mind made up of all the Vex that governs and directs aspects of their network.

  • Vex don't have leaders. They are a hivemind. No individual Vex has any more authority than another. They only differ on that individual unit's level of responsibility. Your basic goblin has very little responsibility. It's just a construction unit. A Vex Mind has a lot of responsibility as its job is to oversee and coordinate all the Vex within its subnetwork.

    • Considering that the vex are a unified Hive mind I imagine there's a central Vex mind at the source of it all While it's almost impossible to locate it at this moment, the more this war between the Light and Darkness escalates means the more danger the collective find themselves in

    • Like the lore genius below me said they probbaly don’t have one single big robot that is actually In charge. Likely so they can’t be beaten by just having one big robot die. But it’s worth noting that vex can have difffernt ideas and tasks such as the sol divisive in the black garden wanting to study and worship darkness against the wishes of the mainstream vex, so much that they’ve apparently fought each other over it

    • <The Vex may have a "Directive Mind" of sorts, but the likelihood of not only finding it, but of it properly existing is pretty low. The "first program" is a thing that exists, but we don't know anything about it other than the name.>

      • The Vex don’t have a single leader. They’re all one connected mind called the Vex Collective Mind. But they compartmentalize information and tasks, dividing themselves into groups lead by higher Minds that hold more information. The Minds share information with each other and that way they all stay connected. This is a very effective way to combat corruption (like the Taken), because any subsection/subtype that becomes infected will not be directly connected to other subtypes, meaning the infection can’t spread easily. The only Mind considered to be greater than the others is Atheon, who was the pinnacle of the Vex. Why so? Because it was the embodiment of time itself and the Vex woven together within the Vault of Glass. But it still seems that it did not lead the Vex as a whole and only focused on its purpose, like all other Minds, despite its uniqueness.

      • Likely there is something. Some kernel they have to keep hidden for their time spanning to be effective.
