The mods meant to make the master nightmare hunts easier wont be able to be slotted on armor at the correct power level and that makes me curious as to the fate of nightmare hunts.

You can use Dreambane mods on the GoS armor too. The Dreambane armor is not my favorite, had to put ornaments on all of it. When it gets sunsetted I will shard it for the materials.
-
Honestly you don't really need dreambane with those dreambane mods to actually do a nightmare hunt. Ex last weekend I did my first Master nightmare hunt did not use any dreambane except for charged with light mods that gave me combat benefits like increase rocket launcher damage and increase weapon damage while charged with light and it was just fine

10 RepliesNothing has been announced in regards to what is happening to Nightmare Hunts. Since it’s tied to a Shadowkeep license that you can still purchase (and the Moon is sticking around as a Destination), I would expect Bungie to readjust the power levels of it. Similarly, when Shadowkeep launched, we saw content that was tied to the previous Forsaken Release (Dreaming City, Blind Well, Shattered Throne) took a back seat in terms of being a weekly focus for power leveling. Wouldn’t be surprised if that happened with Beyond Light - meaning it’s still available for the mods but won’t be a main pinnacle source. As far as the mods go, Garden of Salvation gear is being updated this week to 1360 (S14) power levels, and you can slot Nightmare mods into that gear until it rotates out summer of 2021. We’ll have to wait and see what Bungie officially announces though.

Use GOS armor for MNH and Hive mods (and Leviathan mods) Use Last Wish armor for taken mods and Fallen mods.

4 RepliesPeople use Dreambane armor? Interesting.

26 RepliesThe mods ? I've gotta be that guy here and speak bluntly. You don't need those mods after a certain point making the dreambane mod not really needed now.
-
It will be absolutely ridiculous if shitty nightmare hunts are pinnacle activities ever again. A full year of them was way too long already.
-
2 RepliesNightmare Hunts will more than likely become legacy content like Blind Well and Wanted bounties.
-
You don't need dreambane armor to use dreambane mods.

I suspect they will do something similar to what happened in Shadowkeep. All Year 2 Powerful rewards became Legendary rewards and did not increase in Power level. I suspect we will see the same thing. Most likely the difficulty levels will remain the same, but the levels themselves will not increase. That's just my guess. I am expecting a LOT of claification to come soon, there are a ton of questions regarding Year 3 content (for powerfuls and Pinnacles), raid exotics/mods for raids being vaulted, Gambit Prime/Reckoning armor, Gambit Triumphs/Seals in general, Exotic quests on vaulted planets, New Light/Y1 campaigns, Seasonal Mod slot updates, etc.

tbh, i'd imagine that come September Nightmare hunts will not be part of the pinnacle sources. 1 part so we don't have to play old content to progress 2nd part so it makes them useless so when people stop playing it its easier for Bungie to "justify" removing that content from the game as well.

2 RepliesI have never used the mods in Master Nightmare hunts or honestly in any difficulty 😆
-
You can put them on GoS armor though

Another great reason to not sunset armor.
-
2 RepliesI would imagine they would try to get you to regrind the armour again to slot the mods in. You just expect this crap at this point. 💩

1 ReplyNightmare hunts are part of Shadowkeep and they are only powerful rewards because that's the most current DLC. When Europa drops you can bet that will have the new weekly mission and whatever sort of rotating thing they've thought up. Remember that Ascendant Challenges were the Forsaken version of Nightmare Hunts. I'm sure they'll still exist, but they won't be rewarding so people won't do them. Having said all that, I haven't used dreambane mods in months and I do nightmare hunts every week. You really don't need them if you play smart.

You’ll have to get GoS gear if you want mods.

The mods aren't exclusive to Dreambane armor.
-
3 RepliesThe nightmare mods can be slotted in garden of salvation armour which isn't being sunset.
-
Likely Nightmare Hunts will stop climbing in power and stop being a source for powerful/pinnacle drops. I say this because content from September releases tend to only remain relevant for that year and then get slowly phased out. Forsaken’s content is a great example. It is simply logical for Bungie to phase out the old in favor of the new because it prevents burnout (as we all experienced with Forsaken content and are currently experiencing with Shadowkeep content) and makes room for the new content to drop powerful/pinnacle drops without bloating the amount of sources and trivializing the power pursuit to an even longer checklist of even older content.

5 RepliesThe GoS armor can still hold the correct mods. Still stupid to sunset armor though. Weapons I kind of understand, armor essentially makes the last year of mod collecting pointless.
-
1 ReplyDoesn't the garden of salvation armor uses the same mods as well. That's not getting sunset.
