Between the activation and “cool boy animations” (insert shooop schwoop boop noises) the actual tether time takes way too long. By the time the tether hits it’s often too late and I’m dead before the enemy is actually tethered, my tether being successful is relegated to my teammates getting the kill AFTER I am dead (A successful super is assists lol). A fair adjustment would be speeding up tether and/or for it to release a large (slightly larger than suppression grenade) suppression AOE upon arrow impact.
Funny story: I shot a tether at a whirlwind guard that simply just disappeared, hunter kept swinging away while it just disappeared...how does a super that is all about suppression get blocked. You can’t block a tractor cannon so why would a whole super get blocked.

Lol mid tree arc deflects all projectiles and teather is a projectile. Lol read a bit budy.

3 RepliesBe quiet The fact that a brain dead zombie could run a hunter for 1 The fact that hunters are the most OP shit in the game and your moaning

33 RepliesWarlocks are still a joke in PvP. Your point?

You shot a tether at a super that can block and deflect projectiles (which the tether literally is) and got annoyed when it didn’t do anything?

2 RepliesHunter Main here. You gotta be evasive with it after you activate it. Even if you did, the enemy will be without a super. Whirlwind Guard can be mitigated by landing the tether near them. As for the tractor cannon: the difference between the tether and the tractor cannon is that one is a projectile, while the other is a hit-scan.
-
I think tether needs cast and activation time buffs, but the whirlwind guard example you provided was the game working as intended. If you shoot your tether directly into ww-guard it doesn’t tether them or get deflected, it just gets absorbed. Not a bug or the super being shit, just smart play from the enemy.

1 ReplyEdited by Sturm with no Drang: 7/5/2020 6:10:56 PMWhat bothers me is that if they designed it to be a trap-based super then why the hell does it radiate a fully visible pulse constantly that tells everyone and their grandmother where it’s at? The activation time wouldn’t be so much of a problem if you could actually bait folks into walking around a corner and touching it because at least that feels a whole lot more purposeful than just dumping it directly at a Sunbreaker heading your way, getting a direct hit and kill or at least hoping they decide not to beam you with a hammer before the tether switches on.

1 ReplyEdited by zombdestroyer: 7/6/2020 4:13:05 AMYeah I almost always trade when someone tries to hit me with tether even if it’s a direct impact. Sometimes I’ll just straight up kill them before the tether even activates. Arcstrider is a different story entirely, feels invincible against anything besides thundercrash or (far less consistently) suppression nade.

1 ReplyThe aoe suppression is a -blam!-ing great suggestion. Good thinking man.

11 RepliesAs a top tree Nightstalker main... it kinda requires more thought than middle or bottom. Your smoke isn't a damage, it's a bait. Your dodge is for getting out of places or being cheeky to flank on command. As for the super itself... never fire it directly at enemies. Instead you use it as traps, place it on walls, ceilings... you hear someone pop a super- that is your sign to plant your trap somewhere you think that super is coming. A lot of people in their super get blinders on and get kill happy... so they never notice it half the time. Other times they will refuse to push that lane and will go the long way around if they see it. Putting it above doorways that they can't fully 'see' the tether in wait... gives it enough time to activate and pull them out of super. So if you play your super smart, and bait them... it does wonders. Or simply keeping people from pushing a lane cause no one wants to get snagged for easy clean up. And hey sometimes trading your life to help secure an OBJ is the call to make if your team can capitalize on it- you played your life and if the team can make use of it, there is no wasted life or super from it. You can't just fire it at an enemy. You can fire it at a group of enemies though if you feel that's the smart play. What you might be looking for is Bottom Tree Nightstalker, the hit detection on bottom tree is better than top tree and meant for multi-kills with the super itself. If what you're talking about though with bad detection is Bottom Tree... not sure what to tell ya mate. Everyone wants it to be INSTANT... but it's pretty damn fast already. Personally I think everyone is using it at the wrong time and in the wrong ways. As far as using it against a Whirlwind... dude, Whirlwind eats never everything put in front of it like Banner shield. There are a few things that beat both to keep it from being 100% busted... but those two supers are just "No, you don't get to do that." supers. If you were going to use it against a Whirlwind, you should have fired it at the ground so it snagged him out of it, not directly at him. That error is all on you.

22 RepliesAll hunter supers are underwhelming 🤦🏻♂️. People run away from you in arcstrider. While using whirlwind guard I always get killed by the architects. Spectoral Blades are so weak you can get shotgun meleed out of it. And golden gun has 0 armor and people run away and hide when you pop it.
-
1 ReplyI got a clip of a Titan in burning maul walk into my pre place tether an continues to slam the ground an kill 3 of my teammates while tethered until I came up behind him and shotgun him. He was spamming the hell out of the PT button while tethered and got of 4-5 heavy attacks before I killed him.

Bro nova warp is just as much of a joke.

It's not a panic instant super. Also why would you shoot tether directly at the bs that is spinny pole dancer? Shoot it at the ground geezus even if yah do hit him it ain't gonna do much damage

Not everything has to be good at everything.

Agreed. I’ve run NS for the longest and compared to the first game, D2 NS is just terrible. If you’re not getting a direct hit it’s an absolute joke.
