In the Books of Sorrow, to gain the strength to kill Akka, the worm of secrets, Oryx kills his sisters in his throne world and describes these as "true deaths". Later in battling the Ecumene, Xivu Arath is resurrected, saying, "I am war, and you have conjured me back with war". Savathün was brought back when he tricked the Ecumene, saying, "I am trickery, and you have conjured me back with trickery". So, couldn't they do the same for Oryx? By "exploring and inqiureing" or something similar. I realise that they probably won't do this because everyone would get mad because it would just be "recycled content", but I think it would show how powerful and how big of a threat the hive are.

Oryx is technically still alive. He exists as part of the touch of malice.

5 Replies<Oryx killed his sisters in HIS Throne World. This is not a true death. As Savathun later describes, she was merely trapped in her own Throne. Not to mention, the only character who would care enough about Oryx to bring him back would be Xivu Arath, but she's working with Savathun. Savathun does not give a -blam!- about her family, and only about herself and her plans. Oryx's death benefits her immensely. Even though she has the power of Necromancy bestowed unto her by Nokris, she still wouldn't resurrect Oryx, and neither would Nokris. All Hive who COULD bring Oryx back are either doomed to die (Hidden Swarm) or don't want to.>

A few entries later the Books of Sorrow clarify that these weren’t ‘True Deaths’ as we understand them. This should be easy to understand. Oryx killed Savathûn and Xivu Arath in the same place. How could they both have died in their Throne Worlds?
