In light of nobody wanting to play certain activities bungie decided to incentivise game play with the offer of pinnacle gear for example doing three strikes or three gambit matches or three crucible games. What they actually appear to have done is just put a label on each activity which says pinnacle reward when in reality the gear you get will either be a duplicate number of a piece of gear you actually levelled to pinnacle that weak or the gear will even sometimes fall a power level lower than a piece of gear you've got in that slot already. I was levelling up at the same rate, maybe even a little faster before the changes were implemented. This has brought me to the conclusion that the changes are just a ruse as the game was not being played as much as bungie wanted and so they just labelled the gear pinnacle when in fact its anything but. When I hear the word pinnacle in destiny I presume it to mean that I will level up an item from my gear or weapon inventory. That's what it has always meant up until recently with the exception of the pit which always had thus issue if I'm honest. Once this sinks in for players and keeps happen on the weekly then bungie can bet their bottom dollar (or should I say our bottom dollar) that everybody will give up playing those activities once more. After all, when it comes to destiny rewarding their player base, when does it not feel like a cheap and nasty scam? Almost everything we ever hope for as a community leaves us feeling empty inside. It never seems to come to fruition. We are just left scratching our heads wondering where our time and our money went.
