On 5/24 of this Year Paul Tassi of Forbes.com posted a Straw Poll that shows 59% (the majority) of D2 players oppose Sunsetting! https://strawpoll.com/gh58hc4f/r There was another Reddit Poll posted by another user of th D2 Companion app that showed over 60% of players polled are against Sunsetting! Leonard Nimoy (Spock) & William Shatner (Capt. Kirk) echoed the famous axiom “Th Needs of th Many Outweigh th Needs of th Few”! The verdict is in! Th Majority of D2 players HATE SUNSETTING! Th Truth Stands!

If you took a poll of the Destiny community at the end of Destiny 1 about whether or not they wanted 4V4, you would have had a majority that wanted it. As we saw in the first year of Destiny 2, that turned out to be a bad idea. In general, Destiny 2's launch was so incredibly underwhelming because they listened and catered to the casual majority. They were able to reverse many of those fundamental issues in the game. One of the major lessons learned from that experience is that the casual community does not always have the correct feedback to make the game better. Sunsetting addresses the practical issue of people not wanting to try obtaining new loot in the game, because for the vast majority of players, once they find a gun they like, they don't go for anything else. One of the things I've asked for those who dislike sunsetting is "what's a better solution?". I think it is fair to say that the current state of allowing 2+ years of weapons to move forward is not sustainable.

Infernal, the solution is simple. Let all gear be Infusable to Max Power! you don’t have to schedule a week’s worth of meetings or pay overtime or debug jizillions lines of code in th game engine, you don’t hav to reformat/restructure power lvls (1060, 1210? 1310 or whatever)! FYI, I’ll chase better weapons when they come, just let me keep my old stuff too! I Paid $Money$, Bungie shouldn’t commit thievery and Barr me from infusing Masterworked Gear to Max Power! Let us infuse the gear to Max Power & th screaming & fighting over it will stop! Very Simple!

That's not a solution. How do you balance Pinnacle weapons without straight up nerfing them into the ground? How do you create desire to chase new loot without making more powerful weapons resulting in Power Creep issues similar to what we saw with the Reckoning? How do you deal with mods like Armaments and Barrier that are OP top tier options? The game has become stale and brain-dead easy because we all have completely optimized our loadouts with no need to obtain any new gear. You did not offer a solution, you offered complacency.
