If we want new viable guns we go earn them. If someone wants to use recluse until the earth falls into the sun. Why not let them? The inventory system is a mess. Seeing Bungie make yet another thing that further complicates the inventory system, instead of investing those resources into fixing said inventory system is infuriating. It has not fit its purpose since year 2 of D1. And it was made worse in D2. Diminishing the loot in the loot-n-shoot game seems sadistic. This season has so far proven to me that Sunsetting will not allow for the introduction of anything of compensatory value. We got some new perks. And a bunch of recycled stuff. Things that were too powerful were nerfed before sunsetting, so power creep can't be the reason. I really don't see any reason dev time was wasted on this. It really feels like Bungie is spending dev time creating mechanics that drive players to play more, and disrespect player time in so doing. Instead of making the game more fun to play, which would encourage us to play more. It seems like Bungie is purposefully draining fun from the game, because they don't trust that we'll play a game purely because it's fun.
