If you're going to sunset, then sunset. Don't half ass it and shaft the player by reintroducing the exact same gun while making the older one obsolete. How can you not have considered this? It boggles the mind.

1 ReplySo, you think it's a bad idea to update weapons into the new/current system? I'm tired of doing event/activities to get some outdated y1/vanilla D1 weapon that doesn't have mods, or random rolls. I get that everyone has weapons that they GRINDED for to get that perfect roll, but you can't compare that to outdated relic weapons that NEED updating. If it means that all weapons eventually get sunset and re-issued, I guess that's worth it. Especially if these 'reissued' weapons have access to better perks that fit them. Like the Ikelos Shotgun. I am so HAPPY that it's finally getting updated. I only hope the other Ikelos weapons get it, too. (I'm thinking so) Plus, grind monkeys will LOVE the fact of having something worthwhile to grind for again. The main problem is making activities that FEEL rewarding in addition to earning these reissue weapons. I think some of them SHOULD be special FORGE bounties, or Banshee bounties. Heck, give Ikora something to do. When Bungie first introduced the Black Armory, I thought it was gonna be a way to UPDATE weapons and armor, or to customize them. It was a dropped ball, imo, to just use it to introduce more weapons, that could have went to different activities that needed better reward pools. I YEARN for the day when all weapons in D2 have access to ALL weapon Mods and perks, where Masterworking is uniform across the board. I see what Bungie is TRYING to do. But all I read is butthurt people complaining about their 'god rolls' going bye bye. Way to look at the bigger pcture.
