Pinnacle weapons should be exempt from Sunsetting
Just going to say it: if you got your crucible/gambit/vanguard pinnacle weapons, they should be crossing into new content.
These are not random rolled items that are farmed - these are things acquired via quests for a reason. Leaving them in a state of obscurity is making those triumphs irrelevant and the tasks to complete pointless.
I get there will be more quests around gear for more pinnacle weapons, but the message sent here is "why bother since it will be moot in a year".

Counter point: Pinnacle weapons are the only thing that should be sunset. Because PvP-earned weapons should not be too tier in PvE. Wipe the board of them all, and just give better available perks in the pool than what we have.

Honestly, just keep using them and just switch your loadout in Trials and Iron Banner. Sunsetting is -blam-, trust me I think it is a pathetic excuse to rehash and reissue the same gear to us with higher power caps, but it doesn't hit every aspect of the game and that is the biggest problem. Crucible meta won't change - because the majority doesn't use power level, so gear being sunset won't matter in things like Quickplay/etc - players will keep using the overly abused and overused things like Revoker, Recluse, Mountaintop, etc. This only forces players to change gear/chase reissues in order to do Trials, Iron Banner, Raids, and other power-level-matters activities; a tiny fraction of the gameplay as a whole. The proper way to implement this would have been to make your power level matter everywhere - so gear is truly sunset from all activities when it hits its cap and content progresses past it.

My revoker couldnt agree more. Arguably my pinnacle that I care most about. If you went out your way to earn these things, they shouldn't be touched.

The original Pinnacle pursuit weapons I would argue are what drove the inclusion of sunsetting to begin with, or at least kick-started the idea.

2 RepliesPinnacles were something that Bungie could not sustain without building massive power creep(specifically, the Crucible pinnacles), especially in a sandbox that didn't have sunsetting as an option. I got a few pinnacles too, but it's a fact that if they never get retired, they'll be nerfed to oblivion where you may as well dismantle them on spot.

Agreed. Anything that involved you completeting steps and objectives and to earn a certain rank in their supposed "competive" playlist. Not depend on rng to give me a lucky drop.

There’s a lot of things that SHOULD happen. Bungie SHOULD avoid alienating their player base by doing things nobody wants but...here we are.

It would be nice if bungie allowed us to keep one as a way of saying look we understand u worked hard for these weapons so you can bring 1 weapon with u that way players get the choice of what they want, cause let's be honest if nothing changes with the power grind an sun setting just to re issue there will be a lot of players leave that's when they will re issue pinnacles to tempt people back.

Pinnacles are the only thing I can even remotely see a reason to sunset. Honestly I'd rather see them just nerfed into the ground if they want them retired though.

That's the whole reason weapons are being sunset lol to push out things like MT and Recluse.. and to hopefully have other weapons of similar nature and power they can put into the game to chase.
