So. Guardians. I have questions.
All powerful. Almost eternal. Etc.
I know there are suggestions of love in the lore, but as yet no even hint at copulation. Or marriage. Or cohabitation. Or babies.
Is there lore that states that guardians can have children? If so, where do I find it. What about relations with normal city folk? Does it/Has it happened?
How do sexual relations work with ghosts in tow? Do they leave the room and sit in awkward silence outside the door? Do they watch?
Keep it cleanish, people. Subtly is always more humorous.

6 RepliesEdited by NeonPropose: 6/29/2020 4:00:59 PMLove is a known concept. Eriana-3 and Wei Ning were known guardian lovers. As are Ana Bray and the Owl Sector member Camrin (who class as a guardian/non-guardian relationship). We’ve seen Ana and Camrin show affection towards each other in the comics. We know guardians are capable of love, among other emotions like fear, anger and grief. Marriage is another thing that is likely done amongst the guardian ranks, although I reckon it’s not practiced by many people. If you have the Vow, a weapon gifted by Lord Shaxx during the Crimson Days event; you are I guess technically married to him, although it’s likely unofficial. Sexual attraction and the act of sex? Probably very possible. As long as our brains can produce the necessary hormones guardians should be able to act in such ways; however. Whether the reproductive systems actually work? Another story entirely. We’ve never heard of guardians having offspring. Obviously if an Exo is involved, the process just won’t be able to happen. However if it’s an Awoken or Human it’s possible. But you then have to consider the resurrection process of guardians, and whether they’re resurrected with their reproductive organs in tact. But then you have to consider the social aspects and the commitments the guardians pose. If it’s entirely possible for two guardians to procreate, would they be able to take the time out of their duties as guardians to allow the child to develop and then when it’s born to even allow the child to have a life with both parents. There is also the problem of paracausal beings given birth to a child who will likely not hold such powers and is thus mortal and will eventually die after about 250yrs (human life span tripled with the golden age, average human life span is around 80, with some going higher or lower than that, so just times that by 3). What emotional impact is that going to have on the guardian parents? They’re going to be traumatised. And also think of the child; seeing itself age as it’s parents don’t. That’s gonna hurt. Hard. We’ve never been given a concrete answer to this question that’s existed for a long time. And given the T for Teen rating the franchise has; I cannot imagine it getting answered any time soon.

Read the Mark of the Great Hunt it has implications of Shaxx and Mara doing the deed. The helmet stayed on. 😎

2 RepliesIf Exos can't have children, then how does Cayde have a son? Was he adopted? Was he built? Do Exos function different to what we think? Who knows? But until then, I'm just gonna say "Why give them an unlimited range of personalities like any other human, but fail to build them so they function like any other human to compensate for any kinds of personalities related to birth?".

2 RepliesShaxx and Mara went at it. The helmet stayed on. Technically, anyone who has the vow is now married to Shaxx so that’s a thing. Personally, I think ghosts would stay in spectator mode in their little inter dimensional backpack, cheering you on like Shaxx in the crucible.

I mean...I don’t think I have to explain to you how I spend my free time and who I spend it with...creep

I've made a post about this year's ago We don't know, it's possible, but the main reason we see homosexual couples in Destiny is so Bungie can avoid answering that question.

2 RepliesEdited by Swiftlock: 6/29/2020 8:41:58 PMShaxx and Mara totally banged in the wish room. The 'Mark of the Great Hunt' lore text and the last Crimson Days trailer hint strongly at it.

One of the new lore tabs this season has a Guardian pointing out that older Guardians eventually stop making friends with people that are not Guardians. This is because since Guardians are immortal they will outlive any citizens they befriend. I imagine a very similar view is taken to children, as if a guardian had a child they would be a normal mortal. No one wants to outlive their children.

I'm willing to bet there are a few Ghosts out there that would record the act and put it on EverTube.

Edited by demonbane343: 6/30/2020 7:09:56 AMWhat do you mean almost ertenal? We are eternal. As for relationships, everyone is gay, no babies are being made and humanity is going to go extinct even if we win.

Guardians get the Bob Barker treatment. Case closed.

1 ReplyGuardians are resurrected dead who never age. In the nightfall hallowed lair the Fanatic call us 'dead thing'. I doubt a non-living guardian could father young or give birth to them. There have been many relationships between guardians as already mentioned. Cayde was in love with Dr. Maya Sundaresh. Orin was with her partner Namchi for a century before he was lost on a ship. Devrim Kay has a partner Mark whom he often talks about. Guardians have had relationships with Mortals, one such person was Zavala when he was first risen. Shaxx was also known at the time for having a string of relationships with both light bearers and mortal women. https://pastebin.com/Uk9EKUDS There is no mention of offspring.

Edited by Darth Lunchbox: 6/29/2020 3:36:36 PMGhost stays in the room in case a Guardian has a heart attack or injury during coitus. Ghost resurrects the Guardian upon death and said Guardian finishes the deed.

I don't see why not.

Edited by Riven’s No.1 Cookie Baker: 6/29/2020 3:22:13 PMPeople have asked bungie for years and no one is getting an answer because this is a T rated game. I’d say no because guardians are technically dead.
