After watching the trailer were Eris, Drifter and the Stranger meet, I feel pretty confident that she has learned how to wield the darkness since the energy looks similar to the energy surrounding the pyramid. Going back to the final cut scene from Shadow Keep were Eris touches the veiled statue and smiles, I feel that what she learned in that instance, was that guardians can wield the darkness. This was why she smiled at the end, going forward into beyond light, I think its likely that she believes the only way to beat or at least survive the darkness/pyramid ships is by humanity/guardians learning to use both the light and the dark. Especially since this seems to be a more common theme in D2 content since the release of forsaken.

2 Replies<While she has acquired Stаsis and can wield it, she cannot use the Light. Since we know we'll be able to use our subclasses (which are Light-based, mind you) after getting the new subclass, we know that we will be able to wield both Light and Dark freely. Perhaps Eris smiled because she knows that if we can balance both, then we'll have our first true victory against the Pyramids. Every other corrupt, or moronic (except Lisbon, he's cool) Guardian has had their Light either removed entirely and substituted with Darkness or tainted with Darkness. They are not able to use both and some are not even able to use Light at all. To be able to still use our Light means we circumvent the usual method of attaining Dark abilities. We'd walk down the path Shin wants us on, and the one that's ultimately good for humanity's survival.>
