See problem with scouts is with one small damage bump they immediately wipe out every weapon from being considered. Look at destiny 2 year 1 with mida being meta for literally everything. We wouldn’t have this issue if they could separate the sandbox damage numbers but they don’t want to or can’t. I’m on your side though with scouts needing a buff they do feel crappy compared to everything else.

Damage is not really what scouts need, they have terrible flinch resistance, they have low handling, terrible recoil direction and the maps on pvp are mostly designed for medium to close range. Snipers also completely melt scouts because the game has this terrible flinch system that makes even noobs look like gods when wielding snipers

Edited by ExiIelegend: 6/25/2020 11:54:50 PMI’m just saying they don’t need a damage buff, but if they were it would take the crucible from being as closed to balanced as it has been in a long time and flip it back to D2 year 1. Mida would be king again, and I’m sick of that already just thinking of it. I’m with you guys on buffing their internal stats, but it’s not realistic for bungie to do that.
-
It’s not like MIDA did more back then. It’s just that the average TTK back then was a little slower coupled with the fact that MIDA is essentially a laser of a scout. Thing doesn’t move when you shoot.

Agreed, and that’s the problem it’s ease of use in closer ranges that stretches to some of the more larger maps this game even has been it’s strongest trait. If they got bumped the time to kill would be close to Luna and NF levels maybe faster but not astronomically faster. Like I said if they give them a bump it would have to be to PVE combatants because it would shift the meta almost instantly.
-
I doubt that they would ever shift any of the scouts to actually kill a bullet faster. The most I could see Bungie doing is bumping up damage enough to just shift how forgiving hitting bodies would be. Like maybe just enough to decrease the required crits by 1 or 2 or something.
-
This is Bungie, they want us to play how they want. They don’t know the meaning of balanced if we are being fair. The closest I saw to that was felwinters lie and even then most people don’t even use it from what I see in crucible.
-
I dunno, man. The crucible as it stands is probably in a state that’s closer to being balanced than it was throughout most of D1/D2. Each weapon type outside of maybe scouts have very strong options.
-
That’s my point here, if they give a small damage bump to scouts in the next sandbox or so it’s almost exclusively scouts. Snipers might even get just deleted again because it’s more optimal to use a gun that will make your screen shoot up to the moon when shot at.

Edited by Unbreakable Patches: 6/25/2020 11:34:39 PMScouts being made a bit more forgiving wouldn’t just immediately make them take over the meta. You’re being just a weeeee bit dramatic. Also, the map design doesn’t really allow that.

It’s easier to just give them damage than to dig and tweak multiple values. Just saying it’s more logical for them to do that and not waste time and resources over complicating it.
