Anybody figure out what the blue orbs are?

Hey, so I'm sure you guys have seen those blue orbs with the white part that follows you around on Io. Well today I went to Mercury, and apparently those things are on the patrol area there too, I saw at least 3. So that got me really wondering know if anybody has figured them out if the orbs are on more planets than just Io. A weird interaction I had with them is (I dont know if it was just the game bugging out) I was standing on the orb in the tree on Mercury, and a colossuses shield kept immediately refilling when I took it out, until I got off the orb.

  • Savanthun's eyes. We will get an exotic trace rifle soon that will allow us to destroy all 50 of them. They are located everywhere. In lost sectors, the dungeons, patrol zones. Similar to the Corrupted eggs on Dreaming city that could only be broken with the exotic Wish Ender bow.

    • Yes it's for that new trace rifle exotic. Basically the ahamkara eggs from Forsaken, optional little triumph if you want to kill them all

Eyes of Savathûn. If you remember the Ahamkara Eggs in the Dreaming City they are like those.
you'll need the new trace rifle Ruinous Effigy to destroy them just like how you need Wish-Ender to destroy the Eggs.
• Spoilers(?):
It’s for the new Trace-rifle quest. If I remember correctly, they are for the catalyst for the gun. You can either get get kills or shoot the eyes for progression.
• They said a while ago they’re for the upcoming exotic quest we will all get regardless of season pass. There are 50 of them in the game and you have to use the new disintegrater exotic on all of them. Doing this is also one of the secret triumphs for this seasons ‘forerunner’ title
