I think Eris Morn is actually crazy...
I'm convinced she has literally gone insane. I mean all the stuff with Savathun and her huge obsession with the Hive and the Taken? To be fair her entire fireteam was killed. Am I just stupid? Anyone else think she's insane?

She told us that dental hygiene is the key to a very long life and that it is partially the reason why she survived in the Hellmouth for decades (Something I seriously doubt). Nope. Not insane, just consumed. She has accepted she is damned but will sacrifice herself to save the rest of us. She could be corrupted with this train of thought though.

I think she was on the verge of it several times in the story, but we managed to keep that from happening. Shadowkeep is the most apparent one with removing her Nightmares, but I think slaying Crota and Omnigul for good also helped immensely.

Not really. She's determined and mindful of things that impede that progress. If anything I would say she is more motivated then most vanguard including former hunter Cayde-6. Not even remotely close to insane.

Though, she’s mentally scarred from watching entire her fireteam die, losing her light, losing her sight and LITERALLY taking an acolyte’s eyes to use as her own, and spending years in the hellmouth.

1 ReplyYou'd be kinda kooky too if you had voices constantly whispering in your mind, had PTSD from watching your entire fireteam killed gruesomely by the Hive, and are now facing a Second Collapse if you and this random guardian don't thwart it. She's not even really completley mad, just kinda fragmented from the traumas of her past. Tbh, I'm surpried she hasn't been driven completely bonkers yet.

Don’t blame her, she’s got a lot of shit going on. However, not a lot of Guardians, much less lightless Guardians, are willing to go so far, for so long. Crota, Oryx, the Moon Part 2: Electric Boogaloo, the Silver-Winged Tree, and now Pyramids. Props to her, but let’s hope she doesn’t get too into it, like when she was in the dormant Pyramid ship.
