I’m so tired of swinging my sword at an enemy and by the third swipe I just fly past him. It’s so infuriating/annoying.

And then swinging right through them when you’re trying to damage them...

You speak my mind. Thanks Man. LISTEN BUNGIE. Exact this. 👍👍👍

Don't worry, the aim assist/auto aim is PERFECT when a random thrall walks 3 feet closer than your target 👌

1 ReplyThis used to always happen to me too. You just have to aim a bit more carefully.

Edited by Codykins: 6/22/2020 6:58:21 AMIt's funny, because with their final Halo game, Halo Reach (Hell, even Halo 3; though since there was no hitscan, it could break), they never had this problem. The way it was programmed, was if your character was within proper melee range and the "lunge effect" activated, it would hit, no matter what; There was no melee whiffing, because each melee damage was programmed into the "lunge" itself; in Reach it was also programmed into the hitscan, so even with terrible connections, the damage would always transfer. I don't get why the same implementation wasn't performed in Destiny; Yeah it's a different engine, but all they would have to do is apply the same concept. I can't even express how many times both my normal Warlock melee attacks have whiffed on both PvE and PvP enemies, let alone sword swings if I'm too close, even though it tracks and 'lunges' at the enemy, I typically end up 'passing through them' about 15-20% of the time. So infuriating at times; I've lost so many melee fights due to this faulty game mechanic.

3 RepliesThis has always been a problem, and not just with swords, but with melee abilities as well, especially any shorter range melee supers. And honestly I am pretty sure this is an issue that will never be fixed until they finally get a far better engine.
-
That is really the most noticeable change to swords when Worthy dropped. Sword swings used to keep you on target like white on rice - now i just zoom around aimlessly. They gave them the Hand Cannon treatment ie. you can swing/shoot like mad but you need to 'pace' to actually land hits.

1 ReplyDoes targeting adjuster mod work on swords? 🤔 How about counterbalance. Maybe you need to improve your sword recoil!
-
You just need that freehand grip on it. It'll make swinging from the hip much easier.
-
3 RepliesGuys, DO NOT DISMANTLE your guillotine sword when you unlock it. It does that Dark Drinker spin. Freaking awesome , and you can’t buy more from your collections. Just going to have to find them in the open world, I’m guessing.

2 RepliesYep. I especially like when your using a sword to dps the Pit of Heresy boss and your character does a 90 degree turn and locks on to an exploding thrall........it never ends well 😂
-
1 ReplyYou just have to aim your sword... it’s not too hard...
-
You'd think they'd notice this being a thing if they tested swords on moving targets at all after reworking them. Cause this has been a constant for D2.

Or swinging it and going off at 90 degrees. I find most melee related moves have issues. Titans and hunters lunging 2 miles to melee kill me and yet mine wafts around like a T-Rex and can't even punch himself in the face
