Disclaimer: this is all speculation and may all be proven false in the future [spoiler]Almost all of us destiny player and lore junkies know of Xür, agent of the nine. And probably most if us have wondered about who the nine are. Some say that they are gaurdian-less ghosts who dabble with the darkness; others say they are subsidiaries of war-lost warminds. I propose a new theory. Maybe some of us have heard of the gift mast. For those who don't, the gift mast was the remnant of the traveler's presence near a black hole, altering it's accretion disk which made it a habitable zone. In the books of sorrow verse 5:4 "the gift mast" it says [quote]Now arrives Xivu Arath, at the head of her armada. She fights the Harmony for fifty years with strategies and discipline. But the Harmony turn to dragon-wishes, and their wishful bishops wrestle Xivu in the ascendant plane.[/quote] Now, any seasoned destiny player knows what a wish dragon is, aka the ahamkara. If we look further into the nine, we find that they consider the ahamkara as their children. Maybe this is a stretch, but perhaps the nine are the remaining survivors of oryx's adult assault of the gift mast. [/spoiler] If you guys have any evidence against this, comment it below, thanks.
