You know what is stupid? A powergrind where you don't feel the power after the grind..

Working as intended. I know some use that to troll but it's actually the truth. Most things set up for this game are rigged to waste a player's time spent playing their game whether anyone wants to hear that or not. It's in plain sight on how many things actually are and anyone can easily go by how many things are throttled in this game to even see that. This company spent more time looking for ways to waste a player's time than actually creating content to keep players engaged in wanting to play. This game is going to be dumped in a couple of years that it explains a hell of a lot when it comes to a lot of dumb decisions made for this game. What destiny was created for and what they turned it into is a world of difference and that isn't a good thing at all.

We did the Chasm of Screams, just now. Three of us, with power levels from 1030 to 1047. The game states: Power level 750. Yet, we got recked constantly all over the place, the end fight was ridiculous. I find the top-player catering power levels and monster balancing issues more problematic, than the grind. The grind is fun. The fact that all the grind does not actually make you stronger per se due to the stupid caps on incoming/outgoing damage, is not fun. It's like dropping the "adamantine twohanded sword of world destruction" in your favourite RPG, and when you swing it, it does the same damage as a wooden stick. If I make it to power level 1060, I want to be indestructible, not have the exact same BS damage outputs and incoming damage, as someone who is light level 1000. The issue is, Bungie allows you to do higher level content, with higher level light only. But why can't we oneshot EDZ roaming high value targets, then, why can't we have insane damage against low level enemies? The key point is, enabling. Bungies Destiny uses light level not to make you "stronger" [unlike every RPG and other game where you 'level up' - strength goes up, HP goes up, bla bla goes up], they merely "enable you". Some RPGs like Grim Dawn, show the enemy level in colours, telling you "you are too weak to safely kill this, yet". Destiny TRIES to do this, but fails miserably. Because in your RPG, you oneshot an enemey who is level 20, if you are level 90. But in Destiny, you are treated, as if you are level 30. So any leveling, any light level increase, is ultimately useless, depending on the content you do, because there of aforementioned cap. Since Light is mostly needed for PVE, what speaks against removing the caps, so people CAN actually be able to withstand crazy amounts of damage, and do large amounts of damage to monsters. If you never attempt actual 1060 content, there is no need to raise your LL. And that, is a really, really bad and braindead decision. Again, you can keep the caps, and "LL disabled" things for PVP. But for PVE, the cap and damage scaling needs to go, once and for all.

Power level is just a badge for everyone to display, it will never mean anything in most of the game as enemies scale to your level.

Imagine when you buy a Single Player game, and before you jump in to the actual game you need to grind for some magical number, and only after it, you can actually play the game for that you paid. I can tell you the game would be an instant flop, even when its GTA VI. But its exactly the feel of Destiny 2, not playing but grinding and running in circles for days, feels like drowning.

You get 3 levels above your gear? Hell my PINNACLE drops are dropping 1 point higher. It’s BS man.
