Differences between the D1 and D2 raids are:
1. D1 raids are much fun
2. D2 raids always had different raid boss compared to trailers bungie have shown.
Vanilla - Ghaul but the raid boss was robotic calus
Forsaken - Uldren and his boy band but riven was the mastermind
Shadowkeep - Hashladun and nightmares but it was the vex mind
Beyond Light - Eramis will probably get killed by us in the campaign and the raid boss would be different.
Theory 1: Another fallen, probably from the same house using sta-sis element. the trailers shows different type of fallen using the new element.
Theory 2: Siva, those designs were similar to siva and also in trailer you can see red color on ground of europa. there was also a lore that siva ship crashed on europa.
Theory 3: Vex, this is unlikely but we see vex on europa as well.
Theory 4: A new race, this is also unlikely but wouldn’t be cool if we face the true darkness enemies ( veil), I think it would make a better raid if we fight new enemies, it would actually take longer for the worlds first to
finish since we won’t know what type of weapons or abilities they would use.
what do you guys think?,
Discuss :)

The red stuff on the either way might be Siva or just nightmare energy but in the raid we might see Siva as well as use it and wear it

Edited by Ghostfire239: 6/24/2020 8:40:56 AMI’m just hoping the raid boss actually plays an important and visible role in the story. I hate having some random joe that I have to read several lire entries to know about, as a raid boss after the main story. I understand that some players don’t get to do raids but it’s takes some of the wow factor out of the raid when you kill some random enemy at the end. At the very least include them in the story and make their importance known. I don’t want them do handle the raid boss like how they handled riven either, where the character is essentially shoved into the story at the last minute and only lore people know what’s going on. The one issue I had with forsaken was how they handled Riven. If you didn’t know the lore, the ending of campaign made no sense and riven felt forced into the campaign. After reading the lore things made sense, but before that I had absolutely no clue what was happening. Basically what I’m saying is if Eremis isn’t the raid boss that’s fine, as long as they have somebody else in the story who is of equal importance and presence in the story. It could be a second in command that take her place at after she’s defeated or something along those lines. TL;DR I like theory 1 IF the raid boss actually plays an important role in the campaign and we actually see/interact with them. For example what if we have several missions where we go against Eremis’s second-in-command, and he actually beats us. That would immediately set him up as some of equal significance to Eremis and make him a very interesting Raid boss. I Don’t want to have a random enemy show up as the raid boss where you have to know the lore to understand who they are.

1 ReplyReally hoping for one of those Veiled guys to show up. Though, while I don’t know a lot about it, the raid is based around the Deep Stone Crypt. Unless I’m supposed to picture something other than a pit that has to do with manufacturing Exos (if that even what it did, can’t remember), I couldn’t imagine something like a Veiled to show up.

1 ReplyAs long Savathûn will be the final raid boss of Witch Queen I'm okay with everything else.
-
I hope we get a new race revealed upon entering that ship
-
6 RepliesAlso, this pattern might change on the witch queen expansion since she is like oryx meaning we would defeat her in the campaign and finish her off in the throne world. I am not 100 percent sure about this though since savathun fights with her knowledge and only approaches when she is certain the victory is in her hands. doesn’t make sense for her to lose first and get killed in throne world like oryx.
-
2 RepliesWell considering its taking place in the deep stone crypt I imagine it's gonna be a fallen themed raid where we hunt down the last few remaining leaders of house darkness as they attempt to do something in the crypt Think of it like rise of iron: we cut off the main threat, now we're chasing down the last few outliers to make sure they don't come back anytime soon (vosik and aksis)
-
I just assumed we would destroy her body in the campaign then find out she used the power of the dark to create her own throne world. Its also possible a raid against Clovis bray tech, maybe she downloads her mind into the Bray tech?
-
“Dead Star Tomb” I think the raid or dungeon boss might be Nezarec
-
2 RepliesI hope she’s only the campaign boss. I’m already depressed enough that I can’t raid, since I completed the Dark below campaign then my guardian was like “Nah man I’m out”, and didn’t even enter Crota’s oversoul throne.
-
1 ReplyIsn’t the deep stone crypt or whatever on Europa? My theory: Darkness/Nightmare of Cayde-6
-
Well I’m thinking that the veil ARE the fallen just that they have darkness powers. I’m thinking that some dude or chic granted Eramis’ fallen darkness abilities and the pyramids were the ships to help them navigate in The solar system. When the traveler emitted the blast after Red War, it awoke the pyramids (maybe with the darkness fallen, AKA Veil,) and then They started coming to us. Now, there here for some reason and have darkness powers. It seems that in The trailer Eramis is tempting guardians to use the darkness. Idk. I think this is the most reasonable story.

5 RepliesThe biggest Shank ever seen in Destiny will be the Raid boss.
-
If its another fallen, it’ll be variks, the new kell of kells.
-
Watch it be another Cabal raid instance.

The unnamed faction appears to be an amalgamation of former House Devils, House Wolves, and House Dusk members, though VIP #2029 seems to have unexpectedly abandoned the banner of House Devils.
VIP#2029 is Eramis. VIPs #5340, #5341 and #5343 are currently unknown Eliksni; but seem to be members of high importance. At least enough to warrant the note in this vanguard report about RZ-724, aka Europa. The house is now called House Darkness, as shown by the abandoned house Devils banner and Bungie’s post regarding Beyond Light, specifically stating the new house is called “The House of Darkness”. That being said: we know the raid will take place in the Deep Stone Crypt. This could lead to the potential of SIVA coming back given both having connections to Clovis Bray; however. I don’t think we’re to see this. Personally I think we’ll see three bosses. Mainly those of the three VIP’s mentioned in the lore tab. One of which I do believe to be shown in the gameplay trailer. It’s also a good point to note that a 5th VIP is mentioned in the Rimed Shell lore tab.
Unverifiable reports indicate that VIP #1121 is among the group, though whether as a co-conspirator or a prisoner, this agent does not know.
VIP #1121 is known to us as Variks, Newly self appointed Kell of Judgement. So this now leads into a bigger question: is Variks going to be a villain in the next expansion? Hopefully not. He could lead to being one of the major players that sees a unified Eliksni alliance with humanity. But it is worth considering that he may become an Ally or Eramis or a pawn of the pyramid. Only time will tell for sure. As for the theories mentioned by OP; personally I see theory 2, 3 and 4 as not happening (2 for previously stated reasons). We know now that the pyramids are a Traveler like entity: but whether they have a race of their own, to act as champions is unclear. The vex are there to act in the same way to Fallen do on the Moon or that the Taken do in the EDZ. They’re there not as a major race for us to fight, but merely to fill the spot of secondary enemy faction to fill spawn locations. Granted, maybe expect something about them. Especially given the fact a Pyramid is there.

We did see variks mocap in the working from home video. Probably not the final boss, but he could make an appearance.
-
1 ReplyOf course not. The final boss is a custscene. Like Shadowkeep.
-
Maybe... we'll see. Can't wait to find out honestly.

Edited by klasik_klutz: 6/20/2020 1:23:14 AMit's actually good that the promoted bosses arn't raid bosses caues some peaple want conclusion to the story, but don't have friends, bungie has been doing this since beginning of D2 on a side note I think it would be cool to see cayde as boss
D1 raids are much fun
Already lost me there.

I’m going with: 5: the DSC’s security system

5 Replies<Honestly I don't think Eramis is the main focus of Beyond Light. IMO she is the raid boss, and our campaign boss will be the one to give us -blam!-... Whatever's in that fortress in the press kit.>
