Calculating how many people actually have 'a' seal

Braytech.org would tell you 20% of the playerbase has a seal... and also that 8% of the playerbase has unbroken. That is just obviously wrong. You could just hop around different instances throughout the day and write down the titles you see, but what's probably less time consuming and doesn't require a sample size is as simple as looking at steam achievements. Steam tells us 3.2% of players have completed a seal, but it's actually larger than that because many people who play this game don't actually end up playing it for long (it's free). The easiest achievements are ones such as whether you've finished a subclass or finished a single nightfall strike. What are some good achievements for selecting who 'counts' as a real player? There are many people who download the game, play 5 minutes or 5 hours, and then will never play again. What is the player to real player conversion ratio? What percentage of people who own this game actually count as real players that you will see in a significant portion of your in-world activities? For instance, The Long and Winding Road (reach level 20) (87% of players) is not the best idea. I think everyone gets this for free right now because Bungie doesn't use leveling anymore. In any case, even if there is leveling till 20, is it possible to count as a real player if you haven't completed a heroic public event (54%)? Or a nightfall strike (40%)? To see what percentages we should work with, I think my lower bound should be set at Heart of the Awoken (enter the dreaming city) (22.6%). Buying the DLC is good enough for me for you to be counted as a real player and any more definitely becomes dedication. On the other end, I think encountering Xur (27%) will be set as my upper bound. That actually seems pretty specific to me and isn't too likely to happen to random players. There are some easier achievements, such as acquire each Warlock subclass or complete introduction: crucible. Introduction seems fairly specific, but I don't believe people who complete the introduction necessarily become real players. It's just a couple of quests and is right around the drop-off point, it looks like. Before Introduction: Crucible, achievements are very simple. After this point, the dropoff slows significantly. Of players who have encountered Xur, (.032/.277)=.1155 11.55% of players can be said to have a seal. Of players who have arrived in the dreaming city, (.032/.226)=.141 14.1% of players can be said to have a seal. I would probably ultimately conclude that ~12% of people have a seal that you see in your world.
