Is the Traveler the Gardener itself?

Or are they different?

The Traveler is an agent of the Gardener. The pattern she put into the game of life to help the weaker flowers grow strong against the Winnower’s Blade. The Winnower’s Blade is what we call the Darkness today. Those Pyramids are the Winnower’s Blade. Not the Winnower itself. Make sense?

    • Probably different. The Gardener and the Winnower represent Forces of Nature. For lack of a better term that are "gods" in the pagan mythological sense of the term. Sentient Beings who preside over/represent certain aspects of the Universe and how it functions. The Traveller and the Pyramids are sentient beings who are either allies that are **very** closely aligned with the Gardener and Winnower respectively.....or are aspects of the power of the Gardener and Winnower made manifest in the physical plane. Think of it this way. In Judeo-Christian iconology, Angels are immortal beings/ beings of Spirit who are OF God....but are not God Himself. Likewise, Demons are beings of spirit who are aligned with Satan/The Devil....but are not Satan Himself. Where analogy starts to break down a bit is that in Judeo-Christianity, everything flows from the "top down" from God. Humans cannot ascend to be angels, or (arguably) descend to become demons. But in the Destiny universe, Bungie seems to be laying the groundwork for the possibility of a "bottom up" evolution. Where "lesser" beings can evolve/ascend to become beings of "spirit". A process that is called, in Greek mythology, "apotheosis". The Hive realm is referred to as the Ascendant plane. The most powerful Hive and their Worm "benefactors" call themselves "gods". Its not clear exactly what we Guardians are....while all the players involved wield "magical" powers that are similar to the powers wielded by the gods of various mythologies....and the game's lore frequently uses that imagery and invokes that lore.

      • Yeah it’s the Gardener. Avatar of the Light as it were.

      • <A lot seems to suggest they are one and the same. It'd be weird for the Winnower and its fleet to be at our doorstep only for a mere demi-god.>

        • No I don't believe so. From my understanding the traveler is a separate entity from the Gardner However it's a topic of debate, and we haven't gotten a definitive answer For the moment I'm gonna choose to believe that they're two different beings, until the lore definitively says otherwise
