Stop making Catalyst quest for new Exotics that require you to get lots of kills and then still after you unlock the Catalyst to the quest get even more kills.
Shoot, half of the fun of having a catalyst is tracking how many kills you've gotten.
"Do all these matches and runs and get all these kills in pve and pvp. Great, here but you gotta get 1000 more kills before you can use it."
How do you not get how frustrating that is.

2 Replies*Goes to Shuro Chi CP* *Completes all kills for catalyst in 20 minutes* I don't see why that last step to complete it is an issue. I've done so many catalysts in the same exact place. It's easy. The second best option is the shadow thrall in the Whisper mission, but that requires doing the jumping puzzle every 17 minutes or so, and without a flag to rally to, it becomes more difficult to complete special/heavy ammo weapon catalysts in that location. The rest of the quest is easy. The playlist completions finishes on its own while you're just playing the game. The multikills is too easy and will complete itself in no time. And ranking up the season pass makes the crucible grenade launcher kills only require what, 33? I think it triples that progress and quadruples the activity completion progress. It's too easy, so why complain?

Forcing PvE players to go into PvP won't make them like it, it's exactly the opposite that happens. The person that thought that we need to get 100 GL kills in PvP to get the catalyst is completely out of touch with what a PvE player likes. Guess that the Mountaintop quest wasn't already enough of PvP GL kills for some guys at Bungie.

Stop making things so hard
-
Just go to the leviathan
-
I did 3 contacts and got my kills. And umbrals, and completed bounties for my season pass .. efficiency...

5 RepliesThe reason we have the current system is because people whined about catalysts being random drops.

Every catalyst requires kills or whatever with the weapon. This was a quest that rewarded you the catalyst. At least it's guaranteed and not RNG based like others

500 kills usually are needed to unlock the catalyst completely, so they should lower that
-
1 ReplyYeah, Im not a fan of the seasonal catalyst quests either.

Edited by Gilgamesh: 6/17/2020 8:01:35 PMLoad up last wish shuro chi, not many catalyst actually require PvP, I was abled to get a ton of catalyst done 2 seasons ago by farming her (Especially that the new GL leaves behind a blight that kills more enemies)
-
Do the Sleeper Catalyst Quest. Then you can complain
-
DUDE I FELT THIS BUT ABOUT THE BOUNTIES I HAVE TURNED IN OVER 100 BOUNTIES THATS STILL NOT ENOUGH????! I WANT MY FIING MASTERWORK FOR FIGHTING LIONS
-
10 RepliesAgree!!!! Eriana vow nearly broke me when I found out I still had more to do
-
5 RepliesKill trackers should be enabled on all weapons by default (MW or not) Also, wish the UI didn't require manually changing to track PVP vs. PVE kills.
-
Edited by GrayWolf: 6/17/2020 10:33:43 AMCorrect and this is the reason I haven't bothered completing the Catalyst on Symmetry or Matchbook, or 4th Horseman etc etc. Probably won't finish Witherhoard within the season Used to be the Catalyst dropped, you applied it and immediately got the Orbs on multi-kills & Tracker part but still had some grind to finish it and get the extra perks Then they added this new kind where you get nothing until you've grinded and grinded multiple levels of a quest by which point you are sick of the weapon
-
Yeah it does seem counterintuitive to have a quest to unlock the quest to unlock the catalyst
Stop making Catalyst quest for new Exotics that require you to get lots of kills and then still after you unlock the Catalyst to the quest get even more kills.
THIS ^^ 🙌

Going to Leviathan to finish this catalyst is like staring into fire. Tighten up.

I can agree it isn’t that exciting to have to get kills but it’s a mastery sort of perk for an exotic, anything you’d slot in that fits would be kill related
-
2 RepliesAgreed. Even though it’s small fry in terms of the state of the game (which isn’t bad imo), I’m also one of those guys who likes to see my kill count go up on various weapons. There were some cats that did count your progress until masterworked and retained them... In addition, I’d like to see all exotics get a catalyst- sounds silly, but I don’t use any weapons that can’t track kills/make orbs.
-
They also need to stop making limited time catalysts. Put them on activities that aren’t time gated.
-
You're not going to like sleeper catalyst.
-
Eriana and Witherhoard are worth it tho. Can’t say the same for the other seasonal exotics
-
I dont mind the grind. What I mind is not being able to apply it after the initial grind. I want to apply the catalyst so I can see the kill tracker while I grind it out to unlock the extra perk, like it used to be when the catalysts were introduced.
-
In the good old days, once a catalyst was inserted into the weapon, it counted kills, even if it wasn't fully unlocked.

BUMP!!!!!!!
