You can always play the playlists that use sbmm... Right now you have a choice of what type of matchmaking is used

Yeah, Skill based is alot better than Connection based. People are crying like babies because they have rubbish connection and cant face people there own skill level, -blam!-..

The only way to get SBMM back is to have your voice heard. Make post on the forum asking for sbmm back. Like all the post that want it back. And stop playing crucible. And tell your friends and have them spread the word. Don't play crucible, Show Bungie how we feel. Boycott crucible tell your friends

You meant that crucible ROCKS now... Just get a bit better and you'll start enjoying it eventually. Up to now, you've been playing against same skill players... in other words you were not improving... you'll start improving when you start competing against a better opposition.

You're going to get a lot of people claiming you're wrong. Here's the real answer. If you're top tier the match making in the past took a while and a lot of the other top tier players were leggy and even manipulating the network. So it's better for great players and worse for the vast majority that aren't try hard. Personally i find matchmaking ok but I'm pretty much getting pub stomped and seeing way more people moving strangely, glitching around and impossible to hit.

I have to agree on bringing back SBMM. My games still load at about the same speed so no issues there, but now when I hop into a game I get absolutely destroyed. With SBMM I stood a fighting chance. Most of the lobby would be a little bit below or a little bit above 1.0 KD, so most people were about the same skill, with a few outliers every once in a while. Now, I hop in, and I get insta-killed immediately on spawn 1/4 of the time by a dude with a 5.0 KD. SBMM was much better, because you didn’t have players that were leagues above the rest of the people in the lobby. The current crucible sucks.

Yep, been sitting at 10/12 for five minutes and it just started the game; the only difference now is that the matches will start from the beginning, lopsided. Every game is still a blowout, my teammates are still bad - while the other team are at least competent - I don't see these 'changes' people are referring to.

There are pros and cons to everything and there are clearly a lot of people who are delighted CBMM is back for the majority of PvP, however there are plenty of players who hate it. The problem is that CBMM improves the game (quicker matching, easier matches) for the good players at the expense of the less skilled players - it is a zero sum game. There are currently 7 crucible modes available at once, how about we cut that down to three, so that the player base is not so fractured, and let people choose CBMM or SBMM queues. Control CBMM Control SBMM Survival - as this is competitive I would assume that this would have one queue only to make it consistent. One Rotating mode CBMM One Rotating mode SBMM Then we can see what people really prefer, and if the numbers stay fairly evenly split then everyone is happy - win-win.

I agree with OP not sure if I have been unlucky I managed to get to legend rank in survival last 2 seasons I was on average a 1.1 KD player and do not see the problem with skbmm never had long loading times still dont. However I am mostly solo except in comp and also a disabled gamer with physical disabilities in my hand minus half a left thumb. I have done everything in destiny and only enjoyed pvp until the removal of skbmm I was a 1.1 kd player I am now a 0.36 KD player facing 4 + stacked teams that are 2kd players. I get there stats are being farmed now becuase any 6 man team should be able to dominate control but at least there was a chance before. Tell me to get good all you like I play with some of the best elo players in the world and they can farm everyone in any game mode they can do double trials carries etc and even they are saying it is unfair now. a 1kd player now a .36 kd player unlikely to improve because there is no room to improve even in ELimination I am facing 2kd players or close to 2kd how is that skbmm when I am at 0.36. if anmything it should be the other way round glory should be pure skill not skill matched you want your unbroken titles then work for it not just play people that are roughly the same as you. Now comp is the easiest game mode with the most rewards where is that logic. DOnt get me wrong I love having a .36 kd in comp and being matched against them as I know that is not my true level. SKill based should be just that for most game types except comp and trials and probably Iron banner you have a 50% chance of winning your gun fights or you dont you are playing people similar to yourself and so is your team where is the problem. The only problem i see is over time crucible playlists will get less populated because all of us casual pvpers as you would call us because we dont run around holding hands with ou sleepover buddies using arbalest or bastion with fellwinters loadout will be gone. so all i need to do is go up a rank in comp then play a game of control get destroyed go back to comp and rank up again rinse and repeat and i get not forgotten, lunas howl, unbroken, revoker, recluse, mountain top, and powerful gear every single rank up etc etc or go and play a hard game for hours like control atm and maybe once every major rank upgrade I may get a powerful drop but at a lot less drop rate and a bit of valor. People that were complaining about not making money because they cant make steamer content for their channels because pvp was hard for them. Or people that were awarded a skill level but really they were not at that skill level so they get destroyed are now feeling good because anyone over a 1kd now are just going to get to farm the old 1kd players that are now .3 kd playersbecause there is no way to get out of the cycle of being spawned trapped. I now need to play with 5 friends just to get a win in control. If you are adamanet that this is better for you because you can ape on not so good players or those with disabilities then at least add a skbmm playlist and remove quick play or even just adding freelance control or no more than 3 in a fireteam playlist.

Connections haven't even improved any. People are still rubberbanding, and I even found a cheater on console yesterday.
