Bungie should really reconsider their sunset. Yes I do understand why they are doing it and I do support it for the most part, and I do like the idea of them not sun-setting exotics. But what about the pinnacle quest... the ones like Luna's Howl, Not Forgotten, Mountain Top, etc. I don't think its right to sunset those as well. I myself and others have put an extreme amount of time to get these, so why should we put in all that effort just so Bungie can sunset them and they become useless. With Bungie doing that it really infuriates me, for example, the quest for Not Forgotten, it has taken me a lot of time to get it and now that I have it, it's just going to be sunset next season. So I pretty much just wasted 2 or 3 weeks grinding that for nothing. The other reason why I think we should keep those guns is the fact that they have special perks that no other guns have. Once you get rid of them its not like you can reuse those perks on other guns, like the magnificent howl perk, it just wouldn't make sense to have it on another gun. Don't sunset irreplaceable weapons please Bungie, the community is begging... who else agree's.

Come on.... get rid of old pinnacle weapon is not a excuse to sunset all weapons and armor except exotic in the first place. Even if it really is... why can’t they nerf mountaintop and revoked like how they nerf recluse. Since I think mountaintop and revolver is the only two pinnacle that does need a nerf. Also, having sunset is pretty much deleting the gear you grind in another way so you are forced to grind more if you wants to keep up. Just imagine that none of the gear you grind is worth using or saving in your collections because it’s gonna expire anyway. And it becomes useless scrap that only soaks up your storage space when that day comes. (lol don’t tell me bungie is going to allows players to increase the power cap in the future for grinding purposes)

They made pinnacles too easy to get. They caused this issue by making pinnacle weapons a casual time sink instead of a genuine show of skill. Redrix's Claymore was a perfect example of it being skill based. They stopped being pinnacle after that.

1 ReplyThey’re SunSetting weapons partially because of pinnacle weapons. They want them gone out of endgame content. I don’t agree with it seeing as how we all spent hours grinding for them but this the easiest way for Bungie to get rid of them. That’s why they’re so persistently in favor of SunSetting. Even with all the backlash they’re getting. They want these weapons gone so they’re sticking to their guns as it were. Their guns over our guns. We know it’s damn sure not power creep that’s causing SunSetting. They just released the same weapons with the same perks back into the Wild... for us to regrind... Again. So that just leaves hamster wheel playtime and a low key Pinnacle weapon nerf. Think about it. No other reasons exist. (Queues up the Xfiles Intro)

Fatebringer was cool

3 RepliesThe only real way that I think pinnacles should be handled if Bungie is hellbent on sunsetting is they should just become exotics and maybe get minor buffs to justify the change.
-
3 RepliesConvert pinnacles into exotics so you have to only choose 1 or the other instead of all of them at once. Maybe except Hush and Oxygen, those just weren’t weapons.

I'm the first to throw my Recluse into the fire once the change happens.
-
Funny cause pinnacle weapons are one of the main reasons they are sun setting, they are too powerful. Honestly they should just make them exotic lol
-
Don’t sunset period it’s such a shitty mechanic
-
Farmed out every single pinnacle, including the Mountaintop before its quest got nerfed. Did that one twice. The only ones I'm sad to see go are Redrix and Hush. Some genuinely creative weapons that reward a skilled hand in a fun way. Wendigo, Loaded Question, and Breakneck somewhat have this apply to them too, but nowhere near as much. Mountaintop, Revoker, LH/NF, Recluse- they're regular guns dialed to easy mode. Mountaintop- the point and click adventure, just jump, shoot, and cleanup; in those three easy steps you've suddenly become a good player. Recluse- Rampage, but this time it's better. LH/NF- Regular 150s, but much lower recoil, and allow for a bodyshot in their optimal TTK, unlike any other 150. Revoker- The worst of the bunch. If you don't see something wrong with getting a kill with your negative 15th bullet, there's no explaining this to you. You should never be rewarded for missing.

Edited by MAHBAli: 6/16/2020 4:39:12 AMCompletely agree. I really don’t want to see my mountaintop go. Make new weapons, but give us the freedom to use whatever we like And re-grinding for the same gun twice is just not fun at all. If they bring out a reprised mountain top with exactly the same perks , but just higher infusion and we have to grind that awful quest again. That’ll be the end of Destiny for me
-
4 RepliesI was once thinking like you... But let us be honest, do you really want Mountaintops in Trials every season? Or Revoker sweat fest with ammo regain on misses? I tell you, it will be a better experience without such broken guns in Ironbanner and Trials.
-
Yeah everyone infuse their weapons into the broken pinnacles and you ask why bungie want to “remove” them...
-
50 RepliesPinnacles are why they’re doing sunsetting. The guns are broken.
-
I'll miss some of the pinnacles, but if Revoker goes then I'm happy.
-
I'd rather have no sunsetting, but leaving the most op guns in the open is counterintuitive. I'll be sad to see my mountaintop go, but I enjoyed it while it lasted.
-
No offense to anyone who worked hard to get these pinnacles. Myself included. But these weapons are the whole reason for the sunset and with good reason. How long ago did these weapons come out? They are STILL absolutely dominant in every PvP match be in quick play or any of the competitive modes. It's rather frustrating for the average player since you almost feel obligated to use it to even compete. Yes I can counter these weapons just fine but when almost every single player is rocking the same build, it can be pretty boring, repetitive and annoying. Yes we can use whatever we want and that's our choice but I for one am all for vaulting these weapons. A sniper that forgives a bad shot and rewards a good one due to snapshot sights and a targeting adjustor. Actually that's not a good shot, that's a sniper with help added on. Recluse still dominant in close range unless up against a shotgun and even then, no guarantees. Lunas and NF, I feel like people just put these on for the sake of assuming it makes them better at the game. I wouldn't call them OP anymore but my point still stands that people rely far too heavily on these weapons to win a game. And mountaintop has become such a nuisance I can't even stand it. A high velocity one shot kill from practically anywhere and even if they miss they can finish you off with their secondary before you can blink. I like them too but they've had their time to shine. Too long. And I'd like to see some other weapons killing me in the Crucible. I mean it's even bad when I inspect people in a strike mission or a forge or a dungeon or raid and they all have the same load out. Are people that bad? I can generally beat any piece of content in this game with whatever load out I want and be fine. I use a sidearm and bow in most content and can handle it. It even feels much more fun. Try a creative new build and challenge yourself instead of feeling obligated to use a load out that you think makes you a god at the game.

Pinnacles are literally the whole reason behind sunsetting
-
1 ReplyThose particular guns are part of the reason sun setting is happening. However I don't think it's un reasonable to unlock them down the line to be used again. No I'm not saying re introduce them. I'm saying lift the limit on it so all you have to do is infuse into it. The other thing in regards to time investment. I respect anyone who put in the time for pinnacles back when they were tough to get. But momentum control is a thing now and they cut that grind down so hard. They're not irreplaceable. But they are really big statement making weapons with a small wealth of lore attached to them. All I'll say is stick them in your vault when their time comes to be sun set and keep them there. They might get their time to shine again in the endgame eventually.
-
Mountain top and revoker both need to be vaulted.
-
Edited by Sweet Lew 88: 6/15/2020 4:53:28 PMI've put in the same amount of time earning those pinnacles. I'm fine with sunsetting them. I can still use them in about 90% of the content. End game content is a small portion of the game compared to what isn't. I've used Luna's for almost 2 years, mountain top and recluse for 18 months, it's time see it ride off into the sunset.
-
8 RepliesPvP pinnacles can -blam!- off they're so easy and bs to use. All the Mountain top, lunas howl. Revoker using scrubs.
yeah I ended up getting them but they haven't gotten much use
-
why not make them exotics
-
No. That would beat the point of sunsetting
-
4 RepliesImo broadsword and not forgotten should be the only ones that remain
