1 ReplyThere is no cheating in this game. There are only smart people who risk consequence, or moral people who should mind their own business you nosy -blam!-.
-
Well you can literally not play the game and benefit more than people who play the game...
BAN THEM ALL.
-
1 ReplyIts a legitimate exploit of sorts. I get why people are doing it, i dont agree with it because it interferes with people that want to do the acitivity. Its been around a while afk forges, bungie are stupid for not fixing it.
-
It's an in game mechanic. Nothing is being manipulated or altered in any way. So no.
-
Thankfully what I have planned this season doesn't require it. If it happened on the days of the forge bounties for guardian games...yikes. Plan for this season: Do the daily bounties to get as much altered element as possible. Level 32 season pass. Get the 3rd tier perk for umbral engrams where weapons get a selector perk. Cross my fingers and hope for a curated whispering slab (slag). You got to make your own plans (fate) sometimes to get the best out of Destiny.
-
Technically yes. From the help section on why you can be banned: Habitual quitting or idle behavior in matchmade activities whether they do anything about it is a different story. if people know it's wrong and do it anyway i think there should be bans. if people don't know something is wrong then they shouldn't be banned but get a warning that what they were doing is against the terms of service everyone agreed to.

Youre clearly new to this game. Forge AFK has been a thing since forever. We did it for XP, we did it for planetary mats, we did it for cookies, we did it for clan XP (Im sure Im missing a few things here). All those have since been patched, this one is gonna get patched too. Stop whining and either do it yourself or get on with your life.

nope, but good etiquette is to equip white gear thus dropping light level to nothing. For single character guardians it's actually quite good. As apposed to those who run three who can see-saw there way up the light level ladder.
-
No. Just make sure you don’t affect people trying to the the forge legitimately. Go in under level or solo.
-
No But drop your light well under 750 so it doesn’t effect people wanting to play forges

Cheating is F-ing disgusting. Those players should be banned for life. This however is not cheating. I don't do it myself but I don't knock it. Trying for a legitimate completion then LFG. Any people crying about this exploit absolutely cannot say that they didn't take advantage of the menagerie extra chests, or don't benefit from Control Umbral engram pinnacles. Oversights happen. It's not the players fault. Regardless of how you feel - we can start a discussion if it is 'righteous', however we absolutely cannot label this 'cheating'.
-
No, not at all

Edited by Tru-Zrue: 6/15/2020 5:38:49 AMNo, but it is sad players feel the need to do this to level up. That tell me (and God I hope it tells bungie) that A.The activity isn't fun and B. Light level progress isn't fun either. One of the main reasons I stopped playing is the progression sucks. All of the progression wall, layered RNG, every season they bump up the light level rinse and repeat grind, etc. Where am I going...oh grinding isn't fun currently and players will look for the easiest way to farm mats and LL. Edit:....I too am doing this currently afk thing. Played for a bit and I have to say the game absolutely doesn't feel like destiny to me. PVP is in a terrible place, progression is painfully slow, my supers are D2 beta slow, screen load times are slow, etc. Maybe it's just because I haven't played it like I have today in a very long time and I'm wrong about my complaints, maybe it because I'm coming off of playing smooth slick Cod MW PVP, or maybe?......it the game. I can't personally see the expansion making the game better in the fall, especially with sunsetting being a thing on everyone's minds. Saw the Luck Q&A and he seems very passionate about the game and his heart is in the...a place? But the game isn't in that same place. What pissed me today the most is the games physics feels way off to me when compared to D1 and I'm not talking about the sprint everyone is talking about.

It saves me time repeatedly grinding content I’ve been doing for 3 years. I don’t mind a grind but not every 3 months. I don’t like the seasonal model. Every year is better
-
13 RepliesNo its just being lazy
-
It's an in game exlpoit, which is not a bannable offense
-
If you think it’s cheating your brain is mush. This is the second or third time afking forges has shot up in popularity for some resource or another and if Bungie is still overlooking it it is their incompetence that is to blame. Players getting to the powerful cap without having to go through the 9 gates of bounty hell is a blessing and I have no idea why anyone would complain about it.
-
I wouldnt call it cheating. Bungie knows their forge matchmaking and system is broken, which allows for AFK farming, yet they do nothing about it. If they really cared about AFK farming, they would have patched the exploits a long time ago 🤷♂️
-
Edited by Ghostly Q7: 6/14/2020 11:24:19 PMBungo don't care, I don't care to do it but hell what do you expect gamers to do exploits will always be used if found.
-
No it’s not cheating because you’re playing the game as designed but you’re playing in such a manner as to take advantage of an exploit found in game. Key differentiator is you’re exploiting an in-game mechanic to achieve results not specifically intended. The onus is on Bungie to fix all exploits.
-
Nope. Just illustrates how Bungie substitutes grind for an arbitrary number in place of content. I think everyone AFK farming are giving Bungie a rightly deserved middle finger.
-
Topic body
Anybody hear know If the raid challenge always drops the same gear piece?
-
It’s technically exploiting. Not cheating.
-
You could argue that it is cheating in a way when it comes to light level enabled pvp, as players can gain an advantage over others without investing the same amount of time. I would call it more of an exploit though.
-
4 RepliesIt's not cheating. Cheating would be directly modifiying the game to suit you. This is just exploiting a glitch.
