Your forcing us to retire gear then give us all our investment back
If we have to dismantle weapons and gear because of new light levels and vault space then give us ALL our investment back-ascendant shards-prism-enhancement cores not half or none, but every material we used to masterwork it. The material takes way to much of our time to get for you guys at bungie to STEAL. It's your IDEA for weapon and armor retirement, be fair to your players.

Omg it makes me laugh so hard how they just keep reselling everything back to the player base. They can say they’re dedicated to Destiny 2 all they like but actions say otherwise. Half the team is on matter. They split with Activision which caused them to lose the help of two studios. That isn’t actions of a company who are all in on a game. That’s the actions of a company that’s going to milk the player base all they can with sub par and reused content.

I agree. But, I also believe, that Bungie may have turned into an 'Activision Clone' while we weren't looking. With all of the deleting old armor and weapons, to just have to regrind for newer versions of basically the same thing (Again), makes me feel as though Bungie could care less about the time we've invested in the game. It's really sad.

4 RepliesThe ritual weapons are the only gear that is sunseted, random weapons and armor are refreshed not sunseted, your basically grinding for the same random weapons armor which makes no sense at all, they just want people to keep playing the game. That's what happens when you add seasons to a game.

1 ReplyI find it funny, that all the arguments against this never address the main point directly and instead range from "why do you have a problem with it?" to "stop crying". I don't think in this thread I have seen a single constructive argument as to why exactly refunding materials would make the game worse in any way. If you're having a bad day, maybe you shouldn't be on any forum in the first place (unless it's a mental health forum, maybe you'd find some benefit in having some place to vent). If you actually have a constructive reason as to why refunding materials would make the game worse in any way, I'd love to hear it.

As mentioned a few weeks back, sunsetting is simply a smoke screen to mask a lack of new development. Now everyone can see the truth for themselves. There isn’t any power creep in this game all there is now is a regrind to get back what you previously had before. How does this make everyone feel? Gonna reach for your wallets in September?

2 RepliesHonestly, the only reason bungie is sunsetting stuff is because they don't have anything else to do. They have no more ideas. So, they make this huge idea that people will mostly hate, and make people re - grind for the items that they already have that are getting sunsetted.

This is nothing new. Bungie has established a pattern of behaviour. We have had to grind for weapons we had already earned before. Am I bummed? Yes Am I surprised? No

I did not know about this since I took a few month break after getting bored of destiny, as well as fed up with the armor 2.0 grind. And most of the people I played with had quit playing. Bought the new season only to find out that all the gear that I like is soon going to be useless. I am not grinding another set of armor 2.0. Especially without any weapons that I like. And since I have a character of each class I get to do it 3x. Nope. No way in hell. Especially since I no longer have anyone to play with. if they were to give me back ALL of my resources when breaking down my nearly full vault of weapons and gear, a lot of which is master worked, I might stick around. Still wasted a ton of time. For now I think I am done with D2. I wish I would have looked into it before I wasted money on this season. But hey what dose bungie care, they already got my money lol Well next thing you know they will let you upgrade your obsolete gear to keep it usable, for silver...

So give us a bunch of the same gear to replace our old stuff. Huh??? It’s a lazy way to create grind. So their ghost crew only has to create a few weapons per season and then sell us back our old gear and planets now. Wow. Ok.

I think you've touched on the underlying goal of sun setting. I don't think it's as much about the weapons or gear, than it is about forcing us to regrind for the materials required to masterwork the new (old) gear. IMO it will likely have the opposite affect, and discourage us from leveling our gear beyond the basics.

Honestly, who wants to use the same damn gun for two years anyways? Edit: some of you nice folk have brought it to my attention that it's not new gear we will be getting mostly but rather more recycled guns. In that case, I agree with all you are not fans of this sunsetting.

The cost for infusinons and masterworking weapons and armor is absurd high now and must be lowered drasticly . Something like 5-7 enhansemnt cores for weapons masterwork is reasonable with that stupid and poinless sunsetting . Also one less core and prism for armor masterwork will also be appreciated . The glimer and shards can stay the same . If you make infusions not to cost enhansmet core but only like 10-15 legendary shards is also reasonable with all that light lvl grinding every new season . The high cost of masterwork and infusions to weapons and armor is the main isue why ppl dont use all the weapons you make . We dont have the time and resourses to keep all our weapons max lvl every season so they be viable in all activities while grinding the new season . So we cant mix them up but stick with the few good ones instead .
