Shotguns should require a little skill in pvp.

The pvp is infested with shotguns, for every 10 people 8 have shotguns and everyone does the same thing, slide and shoot, jump and shoot. It doesn't matter if you aim at the foot or the head, the shotgun rewards you even if you are a complete idiot, while all other weapons work the opposite way. I don't see how to have fun in pvp anymore, most maps are tight, shotguns shouldn't hitkill anyway in any situation, the funniest thing is that it gets even more stupid when you can combine the shotgun shot with an instant melee , making the melee trivial if you have any weapon other than a shotgun. Shotguns should do 1/3 of the current damage or else they should block the use of melee while with a shotgun because it is practically an attack on melee range, but the way it is is very appealing. In short, I see no reason to play pvp if everyone is going to use the same weapon. Or we should rename crucible to shotgun simulator?

  • So 3 hit kills at less than 100 RPM in all but one case with zero range? On a weapon class that's already suffering from really bad consistency issues? And has been nerfed more than 20 times? I'm sorry, no. The slide mechanic is the issue, the shotguns themselves are actually pretty weak. You have summoned me.

    • They do require skill. Put a good shotgunner against a bad one and the good one wins every engagement, it arguably takes as much skill as sniping.

        Yeah, they should make it like shoulder charge and miss even when someone is right in front of you. Next season will be the worse yet with a slug shotgun meta.

        • Problem is that special ammo is just normal ammo. You never run out of special so apes can run shotty the whole match.

          • Another attempt at beating a dead horse. I mean no disrespect, but this dsbate had always existed. If theirs any takeaway from this, theirs year 1 d2's loadout system that was loved, and hated my countless people. Hated more if you ask me. I'd much rather have a cruicible playlist, that had the year 1 loadout system. Shotguns, breach load nade launchers, fusions, and snipers, all back in heavy, but ONLY in that playlist. Plus for it to not be a rotating playlist. Let specail weapons have their spot to do whatever you or others think they do. If primaries had their spot back, i think it would help. Even if you don't like/support the shotguns, people that use them, whatever reason you may have, wouldn't you rather have a place were you realistically wouldn't see then at all? They'll always be around, but they don't gotta all be in the same spot. I like both methods of play. Double primary, and using 1 primary with 1 specail weapon. I don't ever want loadouts forced on me like year 1 did, but i like the variety. Having this playlist would "to me" be extremely benificail. Regaurdless of all that, do you bud. Again i mean no disrespect from any of this, just my take. Stay safe, and for the travelers sake. Eyes up gaurdians. Become legend.
