Once more, Bungie has started something that they're not going to address now that the player base is mostly against it. I use mostly because I know some are still for it. So now they're going to refuse to talk about it, and just implement it.
-
The player base isn't mostly against it though
-
1 ReplyWhat's the discuss? It'll be good for the game and it's fine.
-
So now they're going to refuse to talk about it, and just implement it.
They are the game designer, they have to decide and not us. They know that there are some people that are against it for some good reasons, but if Bungie thinks that it still is the best solution they shouldn't stop doing it.
-
Ok so most people are against it fine. They are still doing it. What would you like bungie to do.go on every post and say,"Were still sun setting in september. They are going to respond several more times over the next few months saying we are sun setting weapons in September. I will admit, I'm not sure if I am for or against it. I know that I was pissed in d1, when I couldn't use fatebringer, after taken king, but I got over it.

2 RepliesIts getting very annoying, I doubt they’ll respond at this point though. They’re just gonna stick to their path even though most people hate it

11 RepliesEdited by The Hermit IX: 6/8/2020 5:02:34 PMSunsetting is unpopular with the majority of the player base. People chime in from the minority here saying these forums aren’t a full representation of the base. Polls indicate that 60% are against it, 30% are for it and 10% either don’t understand it or don’t care. Every forum and SM site have players speaking out against it so it’s a hot button topic. One of the biggest arguments the pro sun setters use is that it only effects end game activities like high level NFs, new raid, new dungeon, IB and Trials. I believe it will effect the new DLC in general seeing our light levels are raised significantly with DLCs. Any of the content in the DLC may be only viable with the handful of new weapons and the retreads, obviously seasons 1-8 won’t be. I think that’s a key issue with players purchasing a DLC. We have to wait and see what they say. I love the game but I’m dead set against it. To me I feel it’s fair to hear what they have planned to turn the game around. With that said if I’m forced to use things I just don’t like and it diminishes my enjoyment factor I won’t be spending money. I’ll instead play old content and PVP.

2 RepliesSunsetting will be reasonable if they adjust the economy to compensate. - More sources for masterwork materials or reduced masterwork costs. - A better loot system that makes it easier to farm for god rolls. Something like taking a year to find a god roll Spare Rations or raid weapon is now unacceptable with sunsetting in place. - Giving a new reason to run old activities instead of just leaving them to rot.

13 RepliesBuT YoULl StiLL Be ABlE tO uSe ThEM iN 90% oF tHe GAmE HuRR DuRR. This is what people that defend it will tell you. Everyone seems to forget that all new activities and destinations start at new power level. Try going on the moon at 750 light see how it goes. They bumped all activities to 750 base on SK. The only places where old guns/armor will still be used will be patrols (not on the new destination) and quickplay. Thats more like 10% of the game left. Not to mention that who in the right mind would keep guns/armor on them that are 2-300 lower light, theyll be vaulted and then deleted.

I believe they did address it. They said it’s happening, that’s just not the answer you like so you want to hear a different one. Here, I’ll tell you exactly what Bungie will say.............It’s coming.
-
Dude shut up, they have addressed it twice. Once in February, and once in May. They said in September weapons are going to be sunset. They aren't responding to all the so called negativity, because THEY ARE SUN SETTING IN SEPTEMBER. So if bungie responded it would go like this. "We see all the negative posts about sun setting." "Thank you for your feedback." "Were sun setting in September"

1 ReplyCrowd-sourcing development for this title has been the #1 biggest mistake they've made over the years.
-
Because they’re busy with “listening to the community”
-
18 RepliesThere's nothing to address. It's going to happen because it's healthy for the game, and just because you formed a mob and cried on the forums doesn't mean you're right, nor does it mean they'll listen to you.
-
Most of the player base? How did you get to that conclusion?
-
The chances are they already implemented it in game and they will not going to turn back.
-
They are going to stay the course despite what anyone says. I'm just waiting to see how it effects the game in the long run.

So now they're going to refuse to talk about it, and just implement it.
How do you get that most of the player base is against It? I can agree that most that voice their opinions on the forums are against it but that does not make up most of player base. If anything I assume a higher majority just don't care and play for enjoyment and look forward to chasing new gear. And what is there to talk about. They have said enough about it.
-
They addressed it months ago. They're doing it.
-
2 RepliesThey were always just going to implement it. They did not ask us for our opinions. They are making a decision that is not going to be liked, but one that they feel is needed for the game, so of course they knew what the feedback was going to be before they announced it. They are doing like they did on other changes. Noting our feedback, proceeding as planned and then will note our feedback after the changes are in place. For the record, most of the player base probably does not even know its coming and wont care when it is here
-
I don't think it was ever up for discussion. They were just letting us know what they're going to do.
-
1 ReplyGenuienly curious, what more are people wanting addressed? We know what will and will not be sunset going into Tuesday and the desired effect. Personally I am for sunsetting, but I know many are firmly against it- understandably.
-
4 RepliesEdited by michael: 6/6/2020 1:20:36 PMDo you expect them to just say “Hey, we take it back”? They probably thought about it for a long time and came to the final decision knowing that the playerbase would be upset. Sunsetting is happening no matter what, whether or not it will be successful is up to how it is carried out.
-
Dude. It just got announced a few weeks ago. Things take time.
-
Because no one can give good reasons why it shouldn't happen except "well bingo cant do itttt" which really isnt a good excuse.
-
Standard. When it doesn't help the game as much as it hurts it, weapons 3.0 OTW with not a bite of crow eaten
